No really how much is it, I though you said £150 but that would daft. Wouldn't it? I'd say that the AUS cost would be a fair assumption of the UK price point. so £130 would make sense. I'm still happy with my original ds though. Can't stand the lite. Damn things so uncomfortable.
Think i'll have to have a play on one before deciding. £20 more than the RRP for a 360. Brilliant :roll: If it had been April the 1st then I wouldn't be too worried but it's definitely not a joke.
My son thinks he's getting one, but at that price he's going to have to trade in a lot of games, his ds lite and stump up cash before I'll make up the difference.
I wouldn't mind if it was the DS 2 with better everything, but with a DS running under the bonnet and a camera and sd card added in it doesn't really warrant that price difference. I was considering buying one, and £120 - £130 seems reasonable, but £150 seems a bit steep. Perhaps I'll hang on for a bit, see if it's worth the upgrade first. This isn't as big an update as the Lite was, and the removal of the GBA slot is a step backwards (how many will buy Guitar Hero with the grip, expecting it to work?). The downloadable games will need to be good to make up for it. This is more "gadgety" than the last two DSs. I think I will get one as I have an original DS and the battery is knackered but a lot will depend on the quality of the downloadable games. The camera and other little things are not really of any significance for me. £150 is taking the Pi$$ Taking the pi$$ or the wii ? :lol: :roll: Man, that's quick. I won't be getting a DSi anytime soon tho. Happy with my Lite due to the amount of GBA games and have a much better camera and a 120Gb ipod, so this gives me reason to splash £150 on one.

Sorry, normally I'm too scared to post anything on this website for fear of being torn limb from limb but I was feeling a bit feisty today and posted before thinking.
Now I'm scared the "angry" people will come online and get me. I've had my fun I'll get out now while the goings good. :lol: At least £30 too much. Nintendo can keep the ****ing thing as far as I'm concerned. £150 is pricey. Nintendo aren't selling it well also, I know very little of the new features of the DSi. Personally I think its quite cheeky that this is the third iteration of the DS. Furthermore the thrid version happens to be the most expensive, bit cheeky if you ask me. Still £150 is too much at a time like this for a DS Seriously? £150 !!

Typical Nintendo, tastes the sucsess and gets greedy AGAIN! If they price it at £150 over here, then they may be setting themselves up for a big fall. After all, the GameCube was only £120 at launch for goodness sake! :roll: The DSi is actually a DS2 kind of, it's got something like twice the power so we may see some DSi exclusive games(which are bigger and better).
I think it's worth it to be honest although Europe is still getting ripped off compared to America and Japan.
How much are PSP's nowadays?

* CPUs: Two ARM processors. The main processor is an ARM9 clocked at 132MHz, a significant upgrade from the original 67MHz ARM9 processor that was in the DS and DS Lite. The co-processor is the same as the previous generations, a 33MHz ARM7 processor.
* RAM: 16 MB of RAM (four times more than previous models)
* Storage: 256 MB of internal Flash memory
* Wireless: 802.11 internal wireless connectivity
I got it from Wikipedia so I'll need to back it up. Is the DSi region free, like the DS? Because it looks like getting an import might be the way to go. (Not that I'm getting one!).

I think part of the reason the DS has nearly doubled the PSP sales is due to the lower price point. I don't know how it's priced compareitively overseas.
Nintendo haven't really been about ripping people off, not recently with hardware at least. The wii could do with a price drop, but you can't blame them for not when it's still selling so well! It's got region locking on the downloadable stuff I think, in other words Europeans won't get as much stuff as soon as Japan(but we mauy get it before the US). But it plays any DS game. Woah, woah, woah.

Granted there is cameras and various other gubbins no one is going to use that Nintendo will try to justify the extra £50 but the DS has been out now for eons. It's been at £100 for all that time and it's still effectively a PS1 with a touchpad.
No one can fault them for trying but at £150, I'm out. You do realise it is actually more powerful as well as having all those devices?
I'm getting it anyway, then I can retire the big clunky original DS, it's served me well but it's too big.

RIP OFF!!! Well we can only speculate although they have said there's going to be specific DSi software(however they may mean just downloads).
In fact if they called this DS2 and said they were keeping the first batch of games compatible with the DS it wouldn't seem strange.
I personally think that they're release some specific games(on download or in physical) that are superior to DS games. In which case, until we know otherwise I'm going to have to label this as an overtly expensive upgrade of an existing product.
As someone who doesn't own a DS, I'd be more in favour of buying one now instead of forking out for a more expensive one down the line. its because its really a ds2 it has 2x clockspeeds and around 4x more ram as well as sdcard reader and flash drive it does seem steep but i think nintendo intends to keep it around a long time and drop to 99.99 faze out dslite.....
i think wii 2 will be a faze in product no more obvious GENERATIONS

Is it possible that Wiiboy and Crimbo are one? i had a play about with one from Japan at work today, it was massively unimpressive. Other than being finished in matte and the screen looking a fraction bigger it seems almost identical to the lite. The photo effects functions are quite cool and have potential to be used well in new games and to be fair the cameras dont seem as bad as i expected seeing as the are 0.3 megapixel! Until some amazing new DSi exclusive games come out however its just not worth it. Also we got sent a nintendo press release which said it will retail at £150 which just seems far too much. I'll be sticking with the lite for a long while yet i think... I know everyone else on here is bitching about the price but I hope I'll be able to afford one on release day (don't get why Aussies get it a day before us?), though that'll probably be unlikely 'cos I still haven't been able to upgrade to a Lite from my original DS.

:wink: Ive just been in to order mine from GAME and theyve said if you trade in your old DS Lite that it will knock the price down to £75! So does that mean Nintendo will be releasing any decent games for the DSi or are they continuing the drumming up of sales of consoles and not games?
