She may hail from Chester, but Ava Leigh channels the authentic sound of classic reggae.
Growing up listening to her mother’s lovers rock and ska records, Ava discovered she could sing after a holiday talent contest and, after the odd false start, developed her own sound.
Aided by roots veterans Sly and Robbie amongst others, Leigh's debut album, ‘Burning’ was recorded between studios in Jamaica, Glastonbury and Brixton - and deals with subjects close to home…
"I write lyrics about me and my friends' own personal experiences," she says, "and I just love songs that everyone can relate to, and that will always remind them of the moment they first heard it. I want to make memories."
