Why does it say 'insert country'? Odd because it hasn't cost more than that price anywhere I've looked since late last year. Get the original version at £25 (or less) while you still can! Platinum on my Birthday? Sweet. I got mine for £20(ebay) a few weeks after it was released . i want substance, subsistance version or whatever he wants to name it this time. Stores bought way too many of these and only a couple of weeks after MGS4 was released you could find it in the bargain bins. Its already 20 notes with free delivery at play.com Anyone who hasn't played MGS4 needs to get their behind down to the local games shop and pick this up.
One of my all-time favourite videogames, I agree with the CVG review and just about any sane review of this game:
It is a masterpiece.
Any serious gamer must experience this gem at least once. God bless Kojima and his original and crazy mind! i love the MGS series and this game is awesome. To many cut scene, get annoying on your 2nd play but still a great game My 2nd NGS game played 1 years ago when it 1st came around, wasshit at it and gave up.This one is mega it is like games I have played and havent played with a mad as **** story that just leaves you at the end wanting more but knowing the time is up. Easily the best PS3 game out there, and arguably the most important game of this generation from an artistic standpoint- everyone should experience this game, if only in appreciation of the scale, the depth and the ambition of this title. It's nothing short of incredible. Problem is though, it's not accessable to new players- a knowledge of the prwevious games is required to get anything from the game's plot as it's a continuation and endgame for the series, and as such ties up many loose ends that new players won't necessarily know are there.
Not to worry though, all of the previous games are amazing. What is this game actually like to play? I've never played a MGS game, only got the ps3 a few weeks ago. Controlled from a third person view behind the character, the game can either be a third person Action/Stealth game, or if you want you can make it an out and out shooter by going into the brilliant first person mode in the game. In essense the game is a series of courses whereby you have to go from Point A to point B and then watch a cutscene before moving on.
In some of the missions, you're in the middle of a warzone and can either side with, or become an enemy of two different factions in a war while you're just passing through. There's a full stealth level where the fastest course of action is to remain quiet and hidden while tailing a lead. In essense, it's whatever you want it to be. The game portion of the game (Yes, it's pretty much two animals- the game and the story.) is fantastic and boasts the best third person action system I've ever used, and there's plenty of replay value on it- if only to find alternate routes, try for a 'No kills clear' or speedrun the game. If you can dude, hook up to PSN grab the demo and run through it, see what you think; if you haven't played the previous games though it'll be a confusing experience. |
