Let's just hope that they stay true to their word about significant upcoming games. Locoroco can't justify the handheld forever... Well done Sony. You'ff never sell as many hand helds as Nintendo. But you've held your own, against strong competiton. Really enjoyed the Resistance demo released yesterday for it. It's a better story than R2 and the graphics are excellent for a hand held. They should also consider releasing a lot of the PS2 classics for it.
Do not buy FM'09 for it though. Good news, I recently traded my DS for one & couldnt be happier.
Lets hope they keep supporting it well. I really want mine back, I had to sell it last year when times were hard. I'm hoping that the PSP 3000 model comes out in white before too long. There was me thinking it wasn't doing too well.
That can't be far off the pace of the PS2 now can it? It's just a shame it hasn't got the reputation of that machine aswell :(.
I personally don't own a PSP and don't plan to, there's just not much that interests me on there.
Bring a PSP2 out, with another anaologue stick and shape it so you can use both and press buttons at the same time. Christ, make it a dualshock 3 with a screen on for all I care, i'd buy it then. I can't believe it is selling well at the moment as there are hardly any games being released for it and this has been the case for the past 12 months at least. I have not turned mine on for about a year. I think FMH 09 is alright actually, but then my last FM/CM experience was on the PC back in 2002, and the handheld holds it's own against that. 50 million is impressive - well done Sony PSP.
Just goes to show you that people are attracted to handhelds like flies to a zombie horde. Wow thats a lot never realized that meany psp sold!!! But come to think of it I bet out of that lot 49.9 million of them are hacked versins lol Despite having a less than stellar game library I've really enjoyed owning one. It's a good system in itself, so much potential. Good to hear they're working on new IPs for it too. Wow 50 Million? It just goes to show how much piracy is on the PSP then, with 50 million units to sell too and only a handful of publishers wishing to take the risk of making a game for it! Nowadays its more a multimedia unit than a games machine, Sony if you ever make a PSP2 sort the ergonomics of the design out, holding the bloody thing gives you cramp after 10 mins! hmmm by that token then the DSi is going to be a massive flop because apparently its a bugger to hack.
Then again the DS is a piece of cake all you needs an R4 or similar and the bloody thing becomes trurly epic.
Monkey island and Sam and Max hit the road with touch creen control on the go never gets old. Neither does lemmings come to think of it.

Theres nothing like a good bit of homebrew arrr jim lad. I think Nintendo are going to take full advantage of the DSi though and provide popular services like they've already implemented in it.
50 million is good and I may get a PSP at some point but DSi takes priority and I'll probably get a Wii before I get a PSP. And then there's all the great games... too many games, too little time. I bought one last weekend on a whim and am really pleased with it.

Cant handle the fact they are getting wipping left right and centre by nintendo. Ha ha, how times have changed, give it a couple of weeks and nintendo will be repoting 100million sales, and that is accurate not 5 million give or take. Sony often get confussed between Shipped and Sold. They made have made and set out 50 Mil (which is impressive itself) but it is unlikely they sold that many and even if they did, the DS is still pissing all over it in sales, the amount of games, and the amount of games that are good (and I'll admit that 85% of the DS back-cat is crappy games for the under 5s). Maybe they could spend some of that profit on some major advertising. Not a handheld fan myself but good figures none the less. |
