CoD: Modern Warfare 2 teased

Voice acting work begins on sequel, Infinity Ward reveals
Infinity Ward has dropped its first pain-staking tease on the forthcoming sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, revealing that voice acting work on Modern Warfare 2 is underway.

Speaking via his blog, Infinity Ward community man Robert Bowling revealed that he's currently "reviewing some radio-chatter VO we just finished recording for Modern Warfare 2 today."

"Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all," he added. Useless technical jargon for most games, but riveting stuff for CoD fans.

It's the first mention the developer's made of Modern Warfare 2, which was officially named by Activision in an in-game advertiser meeting late last year.

No details on the second game have been released so far, but if Activision's aiming for a 2009 release (and according to that last report, it is) then we expect to see it on the front of magazines and website in the next few months. For the record, we can't bloody wait.

Even though I strongly suspect it'll be more of the same, I can't help but have HUGE hopes for the quality of this game....

KZ2 better keep one eye open - it's 'Best FPS of 2009' reign could be short lived.

Hear, hear and bring on this sequel post haste! :D

I want them to flesh out the storyline a bit more this time around, I hope that its would be at least double the length of the first MW and that would push it up to about 10-14 hours long.
Perfect!

Those screenshots make me want to see a woodland camouflage and sniper multiplayer gametype.

MW was the first fps i played and enjoyed.i cannot wait for this game.it will be amazing

Must be a slow news day. Still, Modern Warfare 2 will be one of, if not THE best game of the year from the looks of things, what with Silent Hill 5 being pants, Resident Evil 5 playing like an upside down record playing backwards and few AAAs (Killzone and POSSIBLY Alan Wake if it remembers to turn up not withstanding) this year to speak of.

Really excited about this. But they have got to do something different and excting with the multiplayer - the kind of thing that gave you that tingle of excitement when you first levelled up and got new weapons / perks.

nothing wrong with the voice acting in the last one. lets hope it doesnt get pretentious.

with their amazing engine already done and dusted, this game will be pure gold - im sure there will be many tweaks and improvements that elevate this to even higher esteem.

Hopefully KZ2 will last long enough until this beauty comes out.

No chance, keep it short and sweet, if they make it any longer it'll take away from the re-playability(sic) factor, and will dilute all the stand out moments.

I hope they have a better plan for after sale support though, ie more DLC(free, I hope) and something extra for those who reach the last prestige level(I'm still not there yet... ).

I cant wait to see what Infinity Ward are cooking up,you just know its going to be a must have title.

I think they will defo have coop this time, and hopefully a bigger single player campaign.

:D

The voice acting was fine, but that Scottish accent went from "pretty good" down to "shocking" in places :)

Really looking forward to this one, didn't like the W@W beta at all. Loved the original.

I'm glad it's a little way off because I want to get some decent play time out of KZ2 before I start going "Argh! Which do I pick up?" :)

this will be a good games but it won't be the shooter of 09 it took that houner in 07 when it was original but now in this day and age it doesn't do anything new.
Posted by StonecoldMC
What does it play like then crimbo? I only ask as you say 'it wont add anything new' and you would only know that if you had played the whole game.

Or are you maybe just jumping the gun a little, it wouldnt be like you. 8)

it will be cod4 with all the little multiplayer improvements which cod5 had and a few new maps.

I think ill prefer to wait until the game comes out before I start saying what Infinfty Ward will or wont include in the game.

Going by your logic above the same could be said of KZ2....

it will be exciting to see what they do this time, i honestly think cod4 could have stayed at the top for another year with regular dlc but cod5 is a good play until MW2 comes along.

hope we get some cod5 dlc soon though.
