Who cares!! PC Gaming is flourishing about as much as an Icelandic property developer ffs!!
It's all about the existing successes and franchises, aka Blizzard and Valve that brings in the massive revenue!
Microsoft didn't sack their Flight Sim. dev for the love of it...PC gaming will continue beyond Win7 but the MS strategy for gaming isn't with PC gaming but Xbox, and to chase that Nintendo lead. What we want is a fix for players going under the maps on the 360, and that free multiplayer map would be nice too! While I don't entirely disagree with what you have said, everyone who has a love for gaming has a vested interest in seeing the PC gaming development scene continue to exist, and even flourish, since that's the front line of programming and new hardware. Without it the console fans will suffer too eventually as things currently stand; that or remain dead in the water development-wise.
Oh, and I'm sure there are players who care about this patch. PC gaming is far from dead despite some people's claims. :) I'm sure you're correct about the diminishing PC gamers that actually "did the right thing!" and actually shocked their friends and bought the game and can download the patch...
*sigh*
PC gaming's healthy!! Oh god where do these retards keep coming from? You bat one down and another replaces him. Stay in the 360 forums where you will be safe from the outside world and at home with your mediocore games. Who you calling "Retard" shit-for-brains!!
Listen rash-features...you keep believing that the PC will develop as a gaming machine over a general multi-media device at your lobotomised level...and forget your faggot forums and the lemmings, and check the real world you ****ing muppet! You make it sound like Whack-a-mole  I think it's past his bedtime  PC gaming will never technically be dead as long as there is a PC out there with a game on it. So, as long as I make it my life's goal to ensure that every PC I ever own will have at least 1 game installed on it at any one time, I can feel good about myself for saving the entire PC gaming industry. but he is right though, I'm a big fan of pc gaming and buy for both my pc and 360 but PC gaming is on the decline 90 percent of the people i know have ditched playing the pc and gone over to either the 360 or ps3 and those that have stuck with it are the wow players who do notthing but sit and get excited about reaching Lv 87 lol (sorry lads you know i dont mean it you bunch of sun dodgers) I know, it's so dead. Don't need to stick the knife in. Wow.....it's a good thing Microsoft have a hand in making COD5 isn't it?
Shut your face Tony, you're spouting ******** by the gallon in an attempt to justify yourself. I Hate you completely braindead morons who preach the myth that PC gaming is dead; wouldn't know a thing about business if it walked up to you and spit in your face!!
Everyone I hang about with are PC Gamers, we have a local 40 PC internet gaming centre and everyone in there has or plays constantly PCs. There are 2 X-Boxes there that remain mostly off except for the odd time we play a bit of FIFA or MK vs DC.
Consoles are a recreational item that's fast and simple- the PC is where the power and intuition is at. Both are good at what they do.
PC Gaming dead indeed.....where do these people COME from?!! pc gaming isnt dead, not yet, but it is sadly dying.
muramasa: who cares about anyone "you hang about with"? you cant ****ing judge an entire market based on your locale.
recreational and fast and simple? who is spouting crap by the gallons now? many of the most "hardcore" games are console exclusives. get your head out your ass. pc-gaming is on the decline, sadly. I wasn't describing the games you moron. I was describing the hardware. The hardware of a console is streamlined to be fast and simplistic, PCs are designed to be powerful multi-use tools. Explain to me how consoles AREN'T designed to be recreational, fast, easy to use, simple machines for home entertainment!! THE PURPOSE of a console is for it's ease of use, ease of setup and ease of storage.
Well, for one thing, I care. For another, Gaming is as much a social thing as it is an individual thing, so what I said is perfectly valid. I know many many PC Gamers, and by that I mean 'Gamers who primarily game on PC' incase you want to misconstrue and misinterpret what I'm saying again.
It amazes me how many people on this site FAIL to have anything more than the basic knowledge of the English language. Heh, but that's exactly what most consoltards do.
"Me & my mates don't game on PC therefore no one else does & it's dead."
Which of course, it is! RIP PC gaming! firstly, i doubt you have any more knowledge of the english language than i. second; i am not a native speaker, and i speak 3 languages and understand 5. but i suppose you speak at least 8?
powerful multi-use tools? i can have my ps3 do nearly the same things as most people's pcs. most people with a pc does not even know what a quad-core is, so therefore they wouldnt bother buying one, also, most pc's are weaker than the next-gen consoles even if your pc is not. (wii is not next-gen... ever... =_=)
gaming is a social thing, but so is cricket; it is still a dead sport when compared to other sports, as pc-gaming can be considered on the decline.
and so i would like to finish of with my extremely broken english with not even a basic comprehension of what i am saying: yu r A duuche. I was slagging off your complete misinterpretation of my post as being your lack of ability to use the basics of English, but of course, turn it into a 'My balls are bigger than you' argument. The very fact that you saw fit to flame the living **** out of my post becuase your pwerception of what I was saying missed the mark so clearly shows you for the moron that you are. i was simply stating that i am not a native english-speaker, and i would be scared shitless either way if my balls were bigger than you.
your rethorics, sir, are shite. you say one thing one moment and warp it the next, if perhaps you would attempt to convey your message more clearly; we wouldnt be having this problem.
and i did not intend to flame anyone or anything, and if you percieved that to be the case then i apologize for your misconception. Personally i believe pc gaming is on on the decline. Mostly FPS's are in decline. For example i no longer play shooters on pc. Its only MMOs and RTSs that i play on my pc. I see the market declining with many companies not bothering to release games on pc because they probably would no make a profit. Once 360 or PS3 lets u use a keyboard and mouse and MMO are being released then i would believe many pc would gather a lot of dust. »
Get a grip man. Your doomsday scenarios sound awfully similar to Sony's claims at the turn of the millenium that in 5 years time or so the TV would be gone blah de blah. We can now see just how right they were, which is to say that they weren't, not at all even. PCs won't be dying out simply because they are the workhorse of the modern day workplace and the console numbers - even when you combine all three brands - pale in comparison. Sure, a work PC usually doesn't pack the same punch that a gaming PC does but there is such a thing as "medium settings". I wonder, does it bother you that some budget PCs may pack better hardware than the consoles? That as it may be, even if you knew 10,000 people personally it still isn't a reliable yard stick for the overall state of the PC gaming market. Have there been defections to the consoles? Most likely and yet I still see plenty of PC games being released. Some are to my taste while many are not. Judging by comments on this forum the exact same thing can be said of the console games released. Muramasa is right about console gaming being simpler. That's part of the attraction of it: You plug it in, insert the game, make sure the TV is on and voila! Barring RRoD or some other major malfunction the console owner won't have to deal with the configuration issues that can plague PC gamers. Still, I love my PC and I particularly enjoy knowing that my PC stomps on anything the consoles can throw at it. Hard. That's nice. Unfortunately, aside from bragging, the number of other languages you may, or may not, speak are irrelevant as the language being measured in this instance is English. I speak more than one language fluently as well and I can understand a couple more on the side. Now, while that may serve both of us in various situations it has nothing to do with our English skills as they are separate languages.
Thank you for stereo-typing the millions upon millions of PC users around the world. Incidentally, how do you know? Because "it's common knowledge"? If so then you won't have any problem providing quantifiable and verifiable data to support your claim, right? I suspect you *may* be right but to make such a sweeping statement as you did is a good way to set yourself up for a fall. It's presumptuous and arrogant.
PS3s do the same things as a PC? LOL! Yeah right. I'm calling fanboy ******** alert here. The PS3 is quite advanced for a console and when it comes to streaming multi-media it can probably hold its own. Yet when was the last time you saw someone run Excel sheets, pie charts and power point presentations on the PS3 along with a dozen websites open at the same time while running performance assesment programs in the background and listening to music, etc.? If you are truly claiming that a PS3 performs the exact same multi-purpose functions of a PC you are not just a fool - you are also mistaken. »
first things first: im a 360 fanboy. second of all, the number of languages is rather irrelevant as to point out that my focus is not on english and that it is arrogant of him to assume that everyone are native english speakers and to then slag people's language.
i said "most." and a dozen websites open at the same time is irrelevant as it can still have open websites and be used for browsing the internet. excel and powerpoint? oh, please. we are talking about home-computers here, not pc-s that are made for the purpose of work, but your everyday, average computer. which has about 1GB ram. and normally those computers dont have excel or powerpoint either as it is useless to *most* people and costs extra money.
yes, there are millions upon millions of pc users in the world, and a good deal of them are clueless. not every pc-owner is a tech-head or a gamer. so the "stereotype" fits extremely well.
------------
yes, console-gaming is easier, but his first post made it sound like some eliteist ********. nor did he specify which aspects are simpler. so i misunderstood that, but that fault is credited to him.
and i also game on my pc, and i really cant see that apart from the plug and play aspects of the console that pc gaming is less simple. i have never had configuration issues or any other issues either for that matter.
and just because *your* pc can stomp anything a console throws at it, the majority of computers cant. remember, there have died much more people than the number that is alive today. just as there have been many more shit-pcs up in the ages than good ones. many of those shit-pcs are still in use. |
