Any company prepared to at least try and bring Larry back to his prime gets my thumbs up. Doesn't Al Low have anything to do with these games anymore? Codies just seem to enjoy picking up games that are crap. They bought up a load of Korean RPGs that they now run for free because nobody wanted to pay for them. And now the dwindling sales of Larry. It's just the same stuff it was on the Amiga, repackaged and made with better graphics!
Whatever happened to the quality stuff they did 20 years ago? Dizzy, the "Pro <x> Sim" series. I miss the Darling-era Codies. Hear, hear! For me personally I'd say that in order for the game to appeal they would have to leave the old "cheese humor" way behind and focus on believable interaction. Everyone daydreams about something sometime. I think we all like to have heroes and idols and sometimes imagine ourselves in their place. This game is in a position to cater to a specific...area..of such fantasizing if done well. Humor is fine. Lame, unfunny attempts at humor with 80's game challenges are not. |
