Top DJ debunks DJ Hero tie

Report linking Tiesto to future Activision music game is false, says DJ
Superstar DJ Tiesto has debunked recent stories linking the artist to Activision's not-so-secret DJ Hero game.

A recent press release, which turned out to be slightly less official than it seemed, claimed that a special Tiesto version of DJ Hero would be released alongside the music game, and both would be released in Summer 2009.

Tiesto's latest newsletter (which this time we've actually seen) says it's all rubbish...

"There has been a lot of talk concerning an alleged quote from Tiesto about being involved in Activision's possible DJ Hero video game," reads the statement. "This information was based on a fictitious news items, posted on a third party online forum.

"After the blogger posted the news item, falsely claiming that it was taken from a Tiesto newsletter, the quote was picked up on numerous websites and appeared in various articles, creating the impressions that it had come from an official source.

"Tiesto has never given a quote regarding DJ Hero," the statement concludes.

Maybe we're reading too much into this, but the statement doesn't actually deny he's involved in the game...

The Tiesto version might be rubbish but DJ Hero is very real, and hopefully will get an official announcement soon.

if the game was any good there would be no need to slap a big name on it.

its unlikely any club djs would be contributing anything other than a few tracks to the game anyway.

id have thought they would have brought out 'dj hero' then later released a big name version for milking purposes. though EDM isnt as commercial as rock so they may need to spice it up.

i would like groups put 2getha ala: C2C or birdy nam nam, that would be well fun!

How can you be positive about this game and yet so negative towards Guitar Hero?
Posted by svd_grasshopper
where was the positive? stop jumping to conclusions, noone knows anything about it yet. didnt say it was good or bad. potentially good (from my point of view) since its EDM and may be tempting to buy cause i would like the music and would be good at it, but i can see past the gimmick factor. wont be buying cause i have a full professional set up at home and i know the tunes wont be anything i havent heard before.

doubt any guitar owners (who can actually play) would buy rockband hero/whatever.

What makes you assume that? Stop jumping to conclusions. And come on, rockband hero? Seriously, we know you know what it's called. You know you know what it's called. Stop trying to act disinterested.

Hmmm. I'm not sure what to think about this concept. While I'm sure it's perfectly possible and could have a potentially good soundtrack if you like this sort of music. The problem is that gamers and people who do like this sort of music tend not to mix. Guitar Hero had a lot of appeal because it was essentially fulfilling a very primal desire to prance around like a **** playing air-guitar, and making it sound good. Plus everyone has heard of at least a few tracks on GH. Not everyone necessarily likes them but they all know them anyway...

Well, you hardly made a negative comment that's for sure (unlike every Guitar Hero/Rock Band thread), and like you say, this is potentially good for you. Personally, I don't see how this game is really all that different to those others - the theming might interest you more, but I guarantee it'll play largely the same.

Actually I have a friend who teaches guitar who loves Guitar Hero/Rock Band.
Try to stop looking at it as an instrument sim (it's not) and look at it for what it is - a fun party game. Nothing more.

I know quite a few that do and love guitar hero. Myself included. In fact the reason Metallica have signed up to make it is after they had a play on it as an article earlier this week stated.
Posted by svd_grasshopper
metallica suck eggs. the real reason they signed up was MONEY same as the reason they got napster axed. long haired freaks.
Posted by ParmaViolet
Oh, you know them personally do you? - no, didn't think so. Also, I think you might need to read up on Napster - it's alive and well and owned by Best Buy (last I heard)...it just means you actually have to pay for music.

Seriously, you just make yourself seem more of a petulant child with every post.

:)

^ loser.

stop trying to act smarter than your are. **** boy.

where did i say i knew them personally? napster is alive, but not well.

Awww - resorting to name-calling now, are we?...how very mature of you.

Besides, I think that it was you 'acting smart' when you spouted a load of nonsense without bothering to check your facts.

Well, you seem to know the exact reason that they signed up for GH...once again, was this not 'fact' but your (moronic) 'opinion' yet again?

Here's a good idea for you - keep it to yourself. No-one is interested.

No, it just means that people like you don't get a free lunch anymore....diddums.

I try not to get involved in the bickering that I see on this website every day. However Grasshooper you are a gimp. Would you stop taking everything as a personal attack against yourself. And please stop swearing all the time, it only shows that you have a very limited vocabulary.

On topic I love GH but I suck at it, and due to my music taste this just won't appeal to me.

'Internet dweeb'?!? - and what would that make you, then?....let's face it, you've been banned twice from this site, everyone thinks you're a complete k**b - yet, you still come back for more.

Seems to me like you either can't get enough of this site, or you have f**k all else to do with your time.

Also, if you make stupid claims on a forum - you are expected to back them up.

Vercetti102 and k109.

:)

I thought K109 was Tam and Suvwhatever?!

Ah well to many children obviously have access to their parent's PCs. :D
Posted by ParmaViolet
Nah, tam is tam2 and crimbo - but, he's another who's been banned twice before (again for swearing and being generally obnoxious).

Suivaloom is also Nigel_De Jong and several others (that he doesn't seem to use an awful lot anymore).

:)
