Revolutionary Russians celebrates the centenary of the 1905–07 Russian Revolution and the centenary of the birth of the great composer Dmitri Shostakovich (1906–1975), utilising the Gallery’s prints, posters, illustrated books and photography collections.

Margaret Michaelis: love, loss and photography, an illustrated biography published by the National Gallery of Australia and written by guest curator Helen Ennis, has been awarded the Nettie Palmer Prize for Non-Fiction at the 2006 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards.
