GTA: Chinatown Wars to feature Wi-Fi

Multiplayer online potential. Sweet
GTA: Chinatown Wars is to feature Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection in some capacity, if the official site is anything to go by.

The blue symbol denoting Wi-Fi capability has recently cropped up on the official website (see our screenshot to the right), prompting speculation that the game could feature multiplayer over the interweb.

Whilst the Wi-Fi connection could be used for various things, we can't see it being used just for sharing statistics like how many pedestrians you've run over and downloadable content is out of the question.

GTA: Chinatown Wars hits the DS this winter. Stay tuned...

Is anybody really excited about the prospect of this? After Vice City Stories I have no interest in a portable GTA.

I'd much rather play GTA4 where I can get immersed in the world rather than face a load of overly short missions due to the DS' portable nature

We'll have to wait and see. Im not hugely excited, but you never know. Plus, online play sounds good.

I wonder if it will use the stylus?

I hope not, except for a map feature similar to Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. That was an awesome feature and would really benefit GTA, I believe.

Saying that though, the stylus would be good for aiming when in cover but for driving it would seem gimmicky.

It'll be interesting to see the first screen shots of this game.

It could go for a top down 3D engine mixing old and new (like Zelda Phantom Hourglass)

or stick with the true 3D GTA we all know, mixing a Driver 2 style engine on PS1 with GRID on DS, either way I'm sure it would work quite well!

I have a feeling that this as stated above will poor, like the PSP GTA's, ive had both Liberty and Vice Stories and they had none of the pazazz of its console big brothers. Untill i see some screenies im not making a solid judgment on it.

but i def hope it will not be a topdown 'like zelda'. the GTA series has grown past that stage now. IMO it should be full 3D.

They could just do it top down and base the whole control system on phantom hourglass. I reckon that would probably work alright.

That Wi-Fi Logo has been there since the site launched (recently cropped up, my ass!).

I am, it will be crap

Vice city stories wasn't the best no. But Liberty City was an ok game.

And if it was 3d would it have like all 3 liberty city islands? or as it's just the Ds just the one island.

And Yeah the logo has been there since day 1.

Very Excited! I loved Vice City and Liberty City Stories on the PSP. It will be interesting to see how the talented developers at rockstar use the DS's capabilities.

thing is though its not R* North its R* Leeds, again just showing my disappointment on the PSP versions.

Rockstar Leeds did alright with the PSP versions. and plust Rockstar north had a part in it to didn't it?
