Société Information |
Thank you for your interest in our heritage organization. Our group was founded in 1994 by amateur genealogists, members, and former members of the Canadian section of the
Genealogy Bulletin Board on the Prodigy on-line service. The purpose of La Société des Filles du roi et soldats du Carignan is to honor the memory of our courageous ancestors, the filles du roi (King's
Daughters) and the soldiers of the Carignan-Salières Regiment of 17th century New France. We wish to foster a sense of pride in our common French Canadian heritage, to encourage the study of the history
and culture and the practice of genealogical research, and to promote related educational goals. Currently, members discuss this topic on-line on Prodigy, AOL, CompuServe, and other locations on the Internet.
La Société des Filles du roi et soldats du Carignan, a not-for-profit corporation recognized by the Department of Education in New York State and a tax-exempt charitable organization registered with the
IRS, offers two types of membership, full and associate. Membership dues for all members are US$10.00 per year. For Full Membership, there is a one-time fee of US$20.00 for certification, in addition to the
US$10.00 annual dues (total US$30.00). Each certification after approval of your first ancestor's lineage requires payment of a one-time fee of US$5.00. There are minor charges for the reproduction and
mailing of documents or diskettes for the exchange of data. Back issues of the newsletter are available to members for a donation of US$4.00 per issue. A copy of our bylaws and annual financial reports
are available to all members upon request. Full members elect the Directors who govern the Société, elect the officers, and vote on other issues affecting our organization. |
