Marcus Cornish: Impressions from a London Seam

3 October to 3 December 2006

Marcus Cornish returns to the Museum of London with a new exhibition of clay and plaster sculpture based on his experiences as artist in residence during 2005.

Impressions from a London Seam showcases work created in response to his time in the galleries, taking both visitors and staff as inspiration for this intriguing collection.

Marcus comments, "I have loved museums since childhood as places of fascination and inspiring human potential.

"Working as sculptor in residence at the Museum of London for eight months provided a wonderful opportunity for me to look in depth at the rich diversity of people visiting the Museum; how we all move around it and are affected by what we see and how we fit into the pattern of history which the Museum explores."
