Pets of the Week

PB&J
PB&J.
PB & J - Conway - Double your pleasure with PB (left) & J (right)! We're not sure if these 5-year-old Pomeranian/ terrier mixes are litter-mates, but they were surrendered together and sure are the best of buddies. They're affectionate, outgoing, and friendly boys, who are great with kids and would make wonderful lap dogs. PB is curious about cats, and J just ignores them, preferring to laugh and have fun instead, and he really DOES. You have to hear it to believe it, but he actually sounds like he's laughing when he's excited. These happy fellows would love to accompany you on walks and rides in the car, finishing their day curled up with you on the couch or in your favorite chair. These darling little dogs would love for you to stop by CAHS and visit with them, but prepare to fall in love. PB & J need to go to their "forever home" together, where they will become your best buddies, too!

Nanci Nanci - Westbrook - Distinctive Nanci, with her beautiful bright blue eyes and one ear up, one ear down look, is a one-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix who was adopted from us as a pup. Since then, her family situation changed drastically, and in her own best interests she was returned to us. Nanci is reportedly housebroken and crate trained. She is too young and too engaging to do well at home alone all day every day, and would be a good candidate for doggy daycare if her adopters work full time. She adores people and is bursting with energy, and would love nothing better than a new home where she can get lots of exercise and companionship. Although she is full grown, in many ways she is still a distractible puppy at heart, and her new owners will be offered a discounted rate for the “Manners For Dogs” series of classes. If Nanci settles down and does her homework, she has the potential to be voted “Most Likely to Succeed” in her class. (If not, she will still be a contender for “Miss Congeniality”!) Our evaluation scored her squarely in the Meet Your Match™ orange “Goofball” category. During her left alone test she wandered around a bit, but mostly remained focused on the door while remaining quiet. She followed our food lure while quickly learning new behaviors, and already appeared to know sit, stay, and down. Her manners need a little work, but are mostly sins of enthusiasm. With maturity, training, and adequate attention, Nanci has the potential to become the perfect pet for almost any home

Luna Luna - Bangor - Luna is a beautiful 2 1/2 month old kitten who was born here in the shelter after her mother was brought to the Humane Society as a stray. She is a active yet affectionate little girl looking for a new home. If you think you can provide Luna with a new home, then please come in and visit with her today.
