2008 Health Action Awards
Action Cancer and Centra are delighted to announce the launch of the 6th Annual Health Action Awards, open to colleges, schools and nurseries in Northern Ireland.
The awards were conceived as a means of encouraging schools to put a greater focus on pupil health and to showcase the best practice from across Northern Ireland.
Instead of simply rewarding the healthiest schools in each board we feel that more of our schools in Northern Ireland deserve recognition for their commitment to pupil health.
To achieve this we have revamped how we run the awards, introducing a brand new 'Gold, Silver, Bronze' marking scheme. The top scoring primary and secondary school in each Education and Library Board will receive a trophy and a prize of £200 to be spent on school equipment.
Other schools that meet the minimum scoring will receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze certificate based on the standard of their application.
We hope this will give schools another excellent incentive to improve their provision and encourage them to aim for the next level!
If you would like to enter your school for the awards please fill in the application form or call Ruairi at Action Cancer on 028 9080 3344 to request a copy in the post.
The deadline for returning your completed form is Friday 25th April 2008.

The Wally & Wise Puppet Show - Ages 3-11
Wally the Wolf & Wise the Sheep have very different ideas about what's healthy and what's not!
If it was left to Wally the Wolf he'd be eating sweets every day and never wearing sunscreen.
Luckily he's got a friend, Wise the Sheep, to keep him right! These puppets star in their very own
entertaining and educational show, "The Wally & Wise Show," created to cover key health messages in a fun
and accessible way for younger children.
