We can’t persuade KFC to improve the lives of chickens killed for its restaurants without you! Activists around the world are working together to let people know that if they’re eating at KFC, they’re supporting abuse that would be illegal if dogs and cats (or even cows and pigs) were the victims.
From individuals standing in front of a KFC with a sign and a stack of leaflets to crowds of protesters covering whole city blocks, more than 8,000 demonstrations have taken place at KFC restaurants since January 2003, and thousands of articles and letters have appeared in newspapers throughout the world—we’ve succeeded in exposing countless people to the fact that KFC means a miserable, painful existence and a terrifying death for 850 million chickens a year.
But there is still a lot of work to be done to persuade KFC to stop drugging up chickens to grow so fast that they become crippled and injured, cramming them in their own waste for their entire lives, and slitting their throats and scalding them while they are still conscious. That’s where you come in!
- Write to KFC: The more letters that KFC gets from people who are outraged by its inhumane treatment of chickens, the more likely the company is to change. Check out our list of KFC executives, as well as tips on writing letters, to get started.
- Inform KFC employees: Print copies of PETA’s “KFC Workers, Unite!” leaflet and give them to the drive-through attendants at KFC restaurants whenever you pass one, or leave some by the register if you have time to go inside. This is a small action that could have a huge impact!
- Go vegetarian: The best way to help animals is to stop eating them. Every vegetarian saves 100 animals every year! Today, it's easier than ever to replace that cholesterol- and cruelty-laden animal flesh with healthy, tasty, and humane vegetarian alternatives. Order your free vegetarian starter kit today!

Join PETA's 'First Saturday Demo' Team
Protesting at a KFC is a fun, effective, and simple way to show people how KFC abuses chickens. A demonstration can be as simple as one person with a sign, a stack of leaflets, and an hour to spare, or as elaborate as a dozen people with "coffins" in a "funeral procession" for chickens. You'll be surprised at how far you can get with a friendly smile and a simple question, such as "Would you like some more information about KFC?" Let us know you're interested and we'll see about getting someone to go with you, but you really can do it alone!
By taking part in this exciting program or by organizing other demonstrations, you'll be joining thousands of people all over the world who are taking to the sidewalks in front of KFCs to make sure that everyone knows how KFC tortures and abuses 850 million chickens every year.
To get started, just follow these five simple steps. All fields in bold are mandatory.
