Other collections of Portuguese links...

Note: a number of universities and institutions also have lists of links; you should look at that section in the main page as well as the 'reference' section.

[Sapo] SAPO--Servidor de Apontadores Portugueses
(a well conceived collection broken out by novelties/new links, learning and research, communications, entertainment, computing services, commerce and industry, personal home pages, cultural entities, regions, and groups and associations)

[Lusa] PORTUGAL NET
(a sophisticated collection of links to things-Portuguese broken out by news sources, people, adventure, businesses, education, employment, culture, environment, health, and computers)

[Lusa] AEIOU - O Be-a-Bá da Internet em Portugues
(another search engine and directory service, like SAPO; can be used in frame-mode or not)

[Lusa] Top 5% Portugal
(a rating of Web sites related to Portugal broken into various categories; in Portuguese; has the site-of-the-month and ...-week, the best sites, and the most pathetic ones--I wonder which one I might get nominated for...!)

[Lusa] Servidores WWW em Portugal
(a collection of links related to Portugal broken out by universities, groups, news media, music, etc; maintained by somebody at the Universidade de Coimbra; the site is related to another page.)

[Lusa] Portugal-Info[New]
(a nice collection of snippets of information about Portugal, mostly the areas of Lisbon and the Algarve; broken out by a number of categories including accommodations, weather, travel, and so on)

[Lusa] Infocid
(this page is the result of combinining virtually all the Portuguese government entities, including state, local, and municipality organisms, into one index; includes many links, all divided into categories such as public administration, water quality, aids to companies, protected lands, etc; in Portuguese)

[Telepac] Telepac Serviços de Telecomunicações
(an ISP and consulting group that maintains probably the most popular ISP in Portugal; this site is rather confusing, though, and not geared toward the novice users; otherwise, has the usual descriptions of services and directories)

[AutarNet] José C. Valério's AutarNet
(a personal home page with a collection of links divided into four sections: government services/entities, governing bodies, reference, and government legislation/documentation; focuses on Portugal although he does include other areas such as Andorra, Brasil, Mexico, Spain and others more, soon)

[Lusa] Cidade Virtual
(Telepac's directory; broken out by the usual categories but also includes many non-Portuguese sites)

City.Net City.Net's Links to Portugal
(a collection of links giving a nice overview of Portugal: broken out by travel, related Web sites, destinations, country information, culture, education, golf, lodging, newspapers, other guides, and transportation)

[Lusa] Casa Portuguesa[New]
(a site in Portuguese dedicated to the Portuguese community in Holland, it contains links to a number of popular and news-oriented sites; broken out into sections such as online news, embassies/counselates, sports, TV, and zip codes; also has a section on Portuguese recipes)

[portugal.org] Welcome to Portugal
(quite a collection of information on Portugal, though geared more toward commercial aspects; contains sections on doing business in Portugal, lists of financial institutions, art and culture, and current events such as conventions and art exhibits; updated very regularly; in English and German)

[Lusa] Gertrudes--O Diretório Lusófono[New]
(a directory of Portuguese sites and a search engine; categories of Web pages include culture, politics, children, music, turism, and so on; you can also add your own page; includes not only Portugal but other Portuguese-speaking or Portuguese history countries)

[Lusa] Painel Agulha
(a collection of very useful reference links including on-line dictionaries, a few newspapers, and exchange rates, among others)

[Lusa] Directório Portugues de Transportes
(mostly about transportation in Portugal, it contains links to related sites including freight and shipping companies, road conditions, and so on)

[Lusa] Nancy Sandvoll's Visit Portugal
(a nice introduction to Portugal with a number of links to other sites)

[Lusa] Sophie and Mário's links to Portugal
(a nice collection of links related to Portugal, en Français; heavy on graphics, though nice graphics, it may take a while to download some pages; yes, it has a picture of their cat Minou)

[Lusa] Europunk's Portugal
(serves two purposes: Portuguese pen pal service, and directory; the directory focuses on Portuguese media, sports, and music, with a few others)

[Lusa] Rotas do Vento
(although Rotas do Vento is actually a travel agency, it has quite a collection of links related to Portugal; they're alphabetized but no descriptions are given)

[Lusa] Portugal Gay
(basically a collection of links to gay sites, in Portuguese although some English is accessible--there is a mirror site in the US (for quicker access); contains a downloadable screen saver of... well, you can guess...; this site is maintained by a student and is not affiliated with any particular organization)

[Lusa] rec.travel's Portugal
(part of a grander scheme, it contains just a handful of links actually related to Portugal)

[Lusa]Portugal OFFER
(contains the list of customers of PortugalOffer grouped by categories: banking, textiles, wines, pulp & paper products, etc.)

[Lusa] HiperVirtual's Portugal
(divided into North, Central, and South, this page is a cultural visit to a number of cities in Portugal; each contains a historical narrative and some nice pictures, as well as a collection of links related to each city; think of it as a collection of links; in English and Portuguese)

[Lusa] The Human-Languages Page
(you can look up any language or dialect in the world and a list of related-links is pulled up--it amounts to a search engine by keyword; there are just a few, mostly commercial, sites listed for Portugal but the real value here is the collection of all languages in the world)

[Lusa] Scenes from Terceira Island, Açores
(a collection of nice pictures from the Azores although this site is a collection of links about Portugal and the Luso world as well)

Hey! Have any suggestions for additions for my pages on Portugal? Send email to ideamen@well.com. Also, remember that I have a real job and, on occasion, they actually give me work to do--in short, I am happy to add your links but it may take me a couple of days.
