ADSL2+ runs faster and goes further than the traditional ADSL1. This new technology is only available in certain areas where access has been enabled and is designed to be bundled with Spin Home Phone.

The above activation fees apply for both your ADSL2+ and Spin Phone Service.

1 Transferring from an existing Phone Service implies you currently have an active Telephone Service with another provider, you would be porting across to Spin.
2 Transferring from an existing Spin ADSL service implies you are a current Spin ADSL1 customer, and would be moving to a Spin ADSL2+ Bundled service.
3 New Connections with a physical line into the premise, implies that you do not currently have an active Telephone Service in your premise, however have existing cabling into your premise (ie, a Phone Service was previously connected at this address by either yourself, or a previous tennant or owner.

If you have an existing ADSL2+ compatible modem, you are not required to purchase a new modem from us.

Should you wish to host your own web server or email server on your connection you may rent a static IP address at $11.00 per month.

• On peak time is from 12pm to 2am, and Off peak time is from 2am to 12pm Australian Eastern Standard Daylight saving time. Customers with contracts prior to 17/09/2007 will remain on the 7am-12am peak/12am-7am off peak time periods.EST.
• Only download data is calculated, upload data is free!
• Above “bundled” pricing is only valid to full service (local and long distance) phone customers. In the event you move your long distance to another provider, there is a $10 per month additional charge.
• The data rates available to a particular ADSL customer are affected by many factors, and some by quite significant amounts. These include:
  • The length of copper wire from the exchange.
  • The number of, and type of, other services being used over copper pairs in the same cable by other customers.
  • The configuration and line quality of the copper wire pair between the exchange and the customer’s premises.
  • Electrical interference from outside sources (such as electric motors).
  • The configuration of the copper wiring within the customer’s premises.
  • The software configuration and application on the customer’s computer (in particular how it uses the uplink back to the exchange) .
  • The customer’s hardware or modem.
  • The capacity of, load on, and access data rate of the destination host computer which the customer is accessing.
• Download quota is the amount of data you may download in any given month. Any unused data is forfeited at the end of that billing month. For the purpose of calculation, 1GB = 1000MB. Read our billing step through here.
• ADSL2+ phone bundles do not support complex services such as Line Hunt, FaxStream or Indial. If you have a complex Value Added Service(VAS) and wish to port you will need to have the complex VAS removed prior to submitting the porting request.
• If you try and switch your home telephone away from Spin in the future, you may lose your number. Exceptions to this is if you port away to selected carriers with bi-lateral agreements. These currently include Telstra, Primus and Optus.
• Should you have a rented Telstra handset, you are required to return it or will be charged a $50 fee for purchase in the first month.
• Applications which are cancelled after processing has commenced, but before the order has been submitted to our wholesaler is subject to a fee of $100. Cancellation requests received after the order has been lodged with our wholesaler will be subject to standard cancellation fees and conditions.
• ADSL2+ Bundles take approximately 10-14 working days to provision. Please read our ordering guide for further detail here.
• Existing customers upgrading from ADSL1 to ADSL2+ If you upgrade within the first 6 months of your minimum term, a fee of $99 applies, in addition to the ADSL2+ Line Activation Fee. If you upgrade after the first 6 months of your minimum term, and are still within your minimum term, a fee of $49 applies, in addition to the ADSL2+ Line Activation Fee. If you upgrade outside of your minimum term, no fee applies except the relevant ADSL2+ Line Activation Fee.
• Early disconnection fees applies ($300 pro-rata for Spin ADSL2+, $149 pro-rata for Spin Telephony). For example, if you cancel your contract 9 months into a 12 month contract may have to pay a termination fee of $300 x 3/12 (where 3 is the number of months left to run on the contract, divided by 12 months) = $75 (for each relevant service).
• Any data received via the PIPE Network counts towards your Off Peak data allowance. We reserve the right to alter the PIPE traffic policy at our own discretion.
