Ubisoft has begun recruiting for the open public beta of Tom Clancy's EndWar, the console RTS that we think looks really quite good.

The beta will pit players against each other online over three maps in one versus one and two versus two matches. You'll need an Xbox Live connection (duh), gold membership and 3GB of space on your hard drive.
EndWar is the first real time strategy game in the franchise. It's set during World War III, which will take place next week as the boss is on holiday. At least we won't have to worry about not having a pension scheme.
The game can be controlled through voice control and has been developed for consoles from the ground up, meaning the control scheme actually works using a pad.
You can sign up for the beta here. Or if you still need convincing it's worth your time, check out this interview with the content director.
