Show me another »What is the best game console and games for a home theater family room.?
My equipment includes a 720p DLP Projector with a 120" image size, HP 8120 Media Center Computer using Windows Media Center Vista. This room is used primarily by adults and teenagers to view movies.

Your best choices would be either Xbox 360 or PS3. Both can be played easily at 720p giving you great quality on the screen. Both can be hooked up to your MC computer. This way you can take the music from your desktop and play it in the room via a wireless network. The PS3 though has a built in adapater, this would be extra for the Xbox 360. Also, the big major difference is the PS3 is capabale of playing Blu Ray movies. Blu Ray won the war of HD DVD types. Buying a PS3 would knock 2 birds with one stone. You would get a great gaming console and a next generation dvd player.

- PS3 because it has blu-ray technology (it can play blu-ray movies), it has HD gaming, and it has a DVD upconverter built in (which means it makes normal DVDs into near HD picture quality. They are expensive ($500-$600) but they are definately worth it!
- PS3- the graphics are great. We have both a xbox 360 and a ps3 and played HD and BLU-RAY. Blu-ray is by far better quality when it comes to clarity and playability. HD DVDs get scratched easily and it effects of the movie.
- the best game console would probobly be a xbox 360 because the graphics look amazing especially out of a projector with the lights off
- Wii, it has more fun multiplayer titles so when you play splitscreen (with 3 or more players) a larger screen makes it easier to play
- The Wii !!!! They are so much fun and it keeps you on your feet and actually doing something physical! it wears you out!
