Show me another »What are some good books written by Filipino authors can you recommend?
There's Nick Joaquin, Amado V. Hernandez, F. Sionel Jose, Lualhati Bautista, Edgardo M. Reyes... I think their books are usually ignored by a lot of young readers today, which is such a waste. I usually read foreign books, but I think now it's time for me to explore Filipino literature. Please take note that although I know the names of these people, I have not read much of their works.

- Thanks. I recently bought myself a copy of "The Woman Who Had Two Navels", and I'm looking forward to reading it. I still have another book to finish.

It's gripping, suspenseful, riveting and an absolute Filipino classic : P
Good luck finding a copy though, it's a very rare book and you probabaly need to scale the mountains of Benguet to find one : ) My one and only copy was borrowed by a friend and never returned : ( Frix! macarthur, abnkkbsnplako, bakit baliktad magbasa ng libro ang mga pinoy, ang paboritong libro ni hudas, alamat ng gubat and stainless langgonisa by bob ong, you should be at least 30 yrs old to enjoy these books so that you can relate to some of the contents in it. you can have a trip to memory lane especially with abnkkbsnplako and bakit baliktad magbasa ng libro ang mga pinoy. - on the lighter side, go for bob ong's ABNKKBSNPLko. there's also jessica zafra. And Pol Medina's pugad baboy. Their works might not be as deep as the works of the authors you mentioned but that doesn't mean they're not as good and as relevant.
