| Unlike Natallie Durson, who thinks these are "warning shots", we know that these attacks are part of the explicit Palestinian policy of attacking civilians with indiscriminate rocket fire. The Hamas government is obviously seeking an incursion by the Israeli army. But why? Despite lots of hot air from Hamas leaders, any military retaliation by Israel will bring nothing but death and destruction to Gaza, and possibly its reoccupation. Maybe Hamas is trying to link up with Hezbollah for a 2-front attack. With delusions of grandeur from Hezbollah`s "victory" 2 years ago, maybe Hamas is seeking the same: over 1000 dead, destruction of the infrastructure, and 20 thousand Israeli troops in Gaza. When the ceasefire comes, they`ll shoot their guns in the air and scream "victory!". |
