Opening Convention Worship Service, Saturday, July 14, 2007
         Rev. Dr. Gerald B. Kieschnick 
         President, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod

 President Kieschnick is currently serving in his second term as president
 of the Synod.  He was initially elected in 2001, having previously served as 
 president of the Texas District from 1991-2001.

Convention Memorial Service, Wednesday, July 18, 2007
         Rev. Dr. Robert H. King
         Fourth Vice President, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod

 Dr. King has served as a vice president in the Synod ever since his first 
 election in  1986.  While now serving as fourth vice president, he has 
 previously served in the offices of first, second, and third vice president in 
 prior terms.

Worship Leaders

Opening Convention Worship Service, Saturday, July 14, 2007
         Rev. Michael P. Dorn
         Pastor, Trinity Lutheran Church, Houston, Texas

 Rev. Dorn currently serves as the Senior Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church 
 in Houston, Texas.  Trinity Lutheran Church is serving as the host  
 congregation for the opening convention worship service.

Morning Prayer Service, Sunday, July 15, 2007
         Rev. Philip J. Esala
         Pastor, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Kettering, Ohio, and
         Rev. Walt E. Waiser
         Pastor, Peace Lutheran Church, Hurst, Texas

 Revs. Esala and Waiser are two of the authors of the “Day of Prayer,” 
 first introduced in 2004, that has again been placed before the Synod for
 use prior to the 2007 convention.  They have agreed to lead the
 convention in a time of  prayer, in the setting of Morning Prayer, prior to
 the start of convention business.
