The Middle East Policy Council is an educational organization founded in 1981. Its purpose is to contribute to American understanding of the political, economic and cultural issues that affect U.S. policy in the Middle East. The Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt corporation. Donations to the Council are tax deductible. The Council encourages your financial support and welcomes donations from individuals, corporations and others. You can assist the Council's efforts by either subscribing to our quarterly journal, Middle East Policy, or donating directly.
The Council's annual budget is approximately $720,000, which is funded entirely by the generosity of donors. In addition to direct contributions to each of the Council's 3 programs, we are also raising funds for the following:
1. Establish Endowment In order to secure the Council's future, the Council is in the process of establishing a $12 million endowment. In addition to actively raising money for this account, we have imposed an "internal tax" to ensure some funds are committed to building the endowment every year.
2. Redesign Workshop Curriculum The Council is attempting to raise $800,000 to create a new digitized curriculum to serve as the primary resource for the teacher workshop program. The previous resource, published in 1998, is out of date and does not address many of the significant issues that have surfaced over the last 10 years. The Council has committed some start-up money for this program, but it needs additional support. For details on this proposal and how you can help please contact Jon Roth at jroth@mepc.org.
