    Our sesquicentennial is a yearlong affair, but Sunday is special nonetheless because it marks the official start of statehood.
    Happy birthday Minnesota! Yep, on May 11 exactly 150 years ago, President James Buchanan dipped his pen in a White House inkwell and signed legislation establishing Minnesota as the 32nd state of the Union.
