Grant Programs

Texas Employer Traffic Safety Program

This project, funded by the Texas Department of Transportation, joins forces with the state's employers and traffic safety partners to address high-priority areas of impaired and distracted driving, as well as fleet and commercial motor vehicle safety.

Motor vehicle crashes are the top cause of Texas work-related death since 1984 and the problem is increasing: in 2005, crashes killed 132 people on the job, up 9% from 2004. This grant project will develop and distribute outreach materials and information about effective policies and programs that employers can implement to help prevent motor vehicle crashes.
