I found my birthparents when I was 18. If you are under 18, you need your parent's permission. I contacted the agency I was adopted through and they mailed a letter to my birthmother telling her I was looking for her. It took a few months, but I finally was in touch with her through the agency. If you weren't adopted through an agency, and you know your birthmother's full name, you could do a people search online, sometimes for a small fee. If you don't know any information on your birthmother, I would talk to your adoptive parents about what you could do.
