Topps announces WizKids shutdown |
An Anonymous Reader Reports: The Topps Company announced today that WizKids will immediately cease operations and discontinue its product lines. Scott Silverstein, CEO of Topps, said “This was an extremely difficult decision. While the company will still actively pursue gaming initiatives, we feel it is necessary to align our efforts more closely with Topps current sports and entertainment offerings which are being developed within our New York office."

Alteil card dueling game announces first Guild Wars Event |
An Anonymous Reader Reports: The premise is simple, play as usual in the main Folrart and Crest arenas starting Monday, November 10, at 12 noon EST next week, and if you're in a guild you'll get bonus Gran when the weekly rankings go up the week after! Everyone gets something.
Also, we're going to have extra prizes for the Guilds that earn more victories against competing guild members. Every time a Guild member defeats another Iczer who is in a guild (other then theirs), their guild gets a Victory point. At the end of the week, the victory points will be added, and extra prizes will be given based on what guild has the most points. Duels only count in Folrart and Crest. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.

Hellfrost is an epic fantasy setting written by Paul 'Wiggy' Wade-Williams and is the companies latest brand. There is three core setting books planned the first will be the Hellfrost Player's Guide which will be released February 2009, quickly followed by the Bestiary containing over 400 hundred creatures and monsters and then the Gazetteer which details the land of Rassilon in which the action is based.
