Hrm... color me unimpressed. I don't really see anything that really grabs me with Eberron. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt for now, but I really hope WotC provides something a bit more of interest with this setting.

I'm not interested in corporate big-suit goose stomping antics for world domination. This cookie-cutter campaign is total crap and pathetic attempt to shove unimaginative drivel down our throats.

oh my, all that BS in the preview books to get to .... 1930's pulp detectives in D&D;??????

Well, it does explain the trains, and i guess orcs are going to be cast as Nazis ...

yeeeesh .....

this is really lame; i was thinking for a couple of months on the whole how would magic change society bit and getting a little anticipation up to see what this could be, i am disappointed again...

sigh, didn't Shadowrun already do the whole dragons in a cinematic game?

I must admit that I cannot see the point with this setting, besides earning more money. The requirement that, all that is D&D; must also regard to Eberron, destroys the point. A new setting should be unique, not just a different flavour of what we already have.

WotC now publishes three setting, that are practically identical. There are just not enough differences between them, to call them different. This is all IMO, though.

Why the Eberron hatred? I have never seen so much vitriol vented at a new campaign setting. Not even at clearly subpar additions to the Realms like Maztica.

You know what, y'all? If you don't like it, DON'T BUY IT! That's fine. And opinions are cool, but please don't waste our time moaning about how awful something is without putting together an intelligent sentence or two explaining WHY you don't like it. This forum is a place to offer praise and criticism in the hopes that the creators will see some of the comments and possibly act on them.

But if you just want to leave chicken-$h!t anonymous, whining comments, go away. Or we'll have to come beat you up and take your lunch money!

Though the setting isn't my cup of tea, and I am not a big fan of d20 in the first place, I do wish the creator well and applaud him for his effort. With the plethora of products out there today (and the dearth of armchair critics) it's a major accomplishmant to get something in print and out in front of the masses.
Pleasing everybody? Never gonna happen.

in making one of the prime demands of the new setting be that it is basically D&D.; If you want a new setting, why ask that the supposedly "new" setting incorporate ALL of your old stuff? It's just pointless. It's like repackaging D&D; with a different color for each book and asking people to rebuy. I'm willing to give it a shot, but it really doesn't look that interesting. Now, if the setting had something to set it apart from D&D;, like magical firearms, that might be something else...

I have seen so many bad comments about Eberron, and even though I am not impressed with Eberron, the designer, Keith Baker worked hard to win the Fantasy Setting Serach.

I also entered the contest but unfortunately lost out, but it helped generate my own world of EsoTerrana.

Therefore, even though we may hate corporate giants, let us not destroy the dreams of hardworking fans and game designers who may simply be caught in corporate machinations. :(

This is not an endorsement of Eberron, just a call for peace and the need to move on.

I, the obedient consumer, will obey. Strip me of my wallet, I have no need for it, especially since Eberron has come home to roost. Moreover, don't tell me anything about the setting (and for god's sake, abandon all clarity). I have no need for facts, for they will only interfere with my desire to throw my hard earned dollars into the holy fountain of suckers.

Let the brightness of the Eberron wash over me...
