March 2002
In
March 2002, we were surprised with the Cool
Canuck Site Award. They indicate that "the purpose of this
Award is to promote Sites with Quality Canadian content, and give
the opportunity to Canadian Sites across our Great Country, to be
viewed and shared by all. To Qualify for this most Prestigious of
Canadian Awards your Site must of course contain Canadian content.
Your Site must also be able to be viewed by all members of the family
and be in the true nature of the Canadian Spirit. " (www.coolcanuckaward.ca,

May 2001
BellaOnline.com
says their mission is "to create an environment [for women]
that solves problems, provides peer advice, shares collective information,
and most importantly, is fun." Monthly, Genealogy at BellaOnline.com
honours a genealogy website with the Site of the Month award to
"sites that offer a lot of information, that are easily navigated
and laid out in a clean, easy-to-read style." They honoured
the Canadian Genealogy Projects Registry with this award in May
2001.
January 2000
New England
Historic Genealogical Society's Genealogy Technology Excellence
gave it's first-ever awarded ever to the Alberta Family Histories
Society. Specifically, the award recognized the innovation in content
and navigational design of the Canadian
Genealogical Projects Registry portion of the AFHS website.
Two members of AFHS (Janet Morgan, who conceptualized the CGPR and
Judith Rempel who developed it) accepted the award on behalf of
AFHS at GenTech 2000 Conference in San Diego, California.
