The comments on this site are OUT OF CONTROL. It's just the same group of people saying how much they hate every religious group, every race and ethnic group, every class, people who did not grow up in NYC, people who choose to raise their kids in NYC, people who DID grow up in NYC...

We got a burnt taxi dead-center in front of St. Patricks Cathedral during the Pope's visit. Firefighters on sight have extenguished it.
Seemingly no explosion but the cab of the taxi is burnt along with the engine section.

I got kicked off the 8th ave bound L train around 10:45am this morning by a bunch of police at 1st Ave. They made everyone file out one by one. I'm curious who they were looking for. Anyone know?

The Bush administration has a long-range goal of ending federal support for mass transit and creating more private toll roads, they say. What better way to spur a movement for local governments to pay for their mass transportation than luring New York City with an offer of cash upfront?

Check this out - protests at the Chinese Embassy on the west side. I haven't heard a word of this in any local media, but I know something happened there because I know someone who walks by there every day. He has noticed the red paint and broken glass, and recently, an increased police presence.
