My 5yr old does not eat?

MY little girl is 5yrs old. She was never a big eater but it seems to me now that she does not eat at all. She would have cereal in the morning before school then one slice of bread at school and maybe another sandwich at lunchtime and that is it for the day. She refuses to eat fruit and cooked meals but she drinks water whole day. Should I worry?

My girlfriends 5 year old won't eat much either. She only weighs 38 pounds soaking wet. Just remember that her stomach is only about the size of your fist. She'll eat when she's hungry.

Probably not. Kids go through this from time to time. If she is drinking excessively tough that may be something to watch. For one because it fills them up and they do not want to eat food and for two because excessive thirst could signal a kidney problem. More than likely though your child will hit a growth spurt and start eating like horse soon enough and then will slack off yet again when the growth spurt is over with. Good luck!

She will eat when she is hungry. If you want her to eat healthy scientists say that young children have to be exposed to foods about 10 times before they'll consider liking it. Try make food fun, fruit salads etc. They are more likely to eat it if they help cook it. Try get them to be creative. Cut faces into there apples and build orange flowers. That's when you just cut the orange into quarters and lay it out like a flower. You can use heaps of different fruits.

Yes you should be concerned. I found that kids like to eat with other kids or in a group setting. Also try taking her to places and find out what she likes. Fresh Choice was my daughters favorite place to go. If she drinks water or eats alot of ice she may be anemic. If this continues take her to your peditrican. Make sure she is taking vitamins in the meantime. GUMMI vitamins are available too

Wow my five year old seems always hungry, but then it comes and goes and sometimes more is left on her plate. I would worry because some image problems are presenting themselves in younger and younger girls. Check your home for magazines and just get rid of them, they only seem to portray the bulimic ideal

keep a eye out on her but i wouldn't worry. Kids are always going though eating trends, one week they love a tpye of food next they cant stand it. If she doesn't start eating properly try to encourage her to eat and if she doesn't go to the doctors and explain whats wrong.

I would be worried that definately doesn't seem like enough for a growing child. I'd ask her doctor what to do... Everything will be ok maybe theres something bothering her...
