Cultural Studies is an interdisciplinary field concerned with the study and analysis of contemporary culture. It addresses a wide range of critical issues including: cultural identities and media; cultural texts from movies to mardi gras; the workings of cultural power; the consumption of cultural commodities; the relationships between popular, national, and contemporary global cultures; and, the circulation, effects and meanings of culture in everyday life.
