BRA LAWSUIT

NEW YORK (AP) - Katerina Plew is suing Victoria's Secret for stealing her secret. She claims the lingerie company stole her idea for hiding bra straps. Plew is a single, working mother of 4, including triplets. She says she created the bra in 1999 after becoming frustrated that her bra straps were showing. Plew received a patent on the bra in 2004. She claims officials of Victoria's Secret canceled a meeting with her, after she e-mailed them a mock-up of the bra. She's filed suit in a New York federal court. No comment yet from lawyers for Victoria's Secret.

CHINA-AUTO SHOW-BIG CARS

BEIJING (AP) - They're big, expensive and gas-guzzling. Just the thing for the Chinese auto market. Sales of the Cadillac Escalade are nose-diving in the U.S. as gas prices soar. But the big SUV is hot stuff on the even hotter Chinese auto market. A gleaming black Cadillac Escalade is the star of the GM display at the Beijing auto show. GM officials say SUVs and luxury cars are the fastest-growing market segments in China. And those new Chinese millionaires don't have to worry about breaking the bank to fill up their Escalades. Fuel prices are government controlled in China and among the lowest in the world. Gas now sells for under three bucks a gallon there.

BEAUTIFUL BULLDOG

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Buddy is a beauty -- as far as bulldogs go. George DuBois' (doo-BOYS') pet is this year's "Beautiful Bulldog." The 3-year-old canine topped 50 contenders at yesterday's bulldog beauty pageant in Des Moines, Iowa. The annual contest is 1 of the events leading up to the Drake Relays. Buddy didn't have to enhance his natural good looks. Some of the competition wore costumes, ranging from Mr. T to a fairy princess. But not Buddy. Saturday he gets to ride into Drake Stadium before 18,000 fans.

LAX-PET ORDINANCE

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Fifi and Rover could face new restrictions at LAX. The Los Angeles City Council is considering an ordinance that would require pet owners to keep their animals caged as they travel through Los Angeles International Airport. Police Chief William Bratton is concerned that bomb and drug-sniffing police dogs could be distracted by the jet-setting pets. The council's Public Safety Committee OK'd the measure yesterday. The proposed ordinance will be heard by another committee before being considered by the full council.

LUCKY WEDDING JACKPOT

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A California woman believes her luck is still holding. She was among hundreds of people who got married in Las Vegas last summer on the "lucky" sevens -- 7-7-07. Now, Yolanda Navarro Davis has returned to Vegas and hit a $1.2 million jackpot playing the slots. She tells Riveria casino officials the gods are still watching over her and her husband. She says on the way to Vegas last summer to be married they avoided five accidents. Navarro Davis played about 50 bucks late Saturday before hitting it big on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. She plans on buying two new cars with her new fortune and to invest the rest.

BARROOM CHURCH E7218

SIDNEY, Ohio (AP) - The Good Book and good brew were on tap Sunday evening in Ohio. The Reverend Chris Heckaman says he wants to reach new people. So, he's holding services at the Pub Lounge in Sidney, about 35 miles north of Dayton. Heckaman is the head pastor at Sidney United First Methodist Church. He says the first tavern service was a success, drawing about 100 people. He even looked to the bar's mechanical bull for inspiration. The sermon compared staying on the bull to learning how to get along in life.
