Accessing Microsoft Files

Some of the information/data linked from the AFHS website requires that you have a software that can read Microsoft Excel files. If you don't have Excel installed on your computer, you may have another software that can read them (e.g., Quattro Pro, Lotus 1-2-3) or you can install the free Microsoft Excel Viewer.

  1. Download the file
  2. You first need to download (save) them to your computer, that is:
    - right-click on the .xls link
    - choosing "Save File"
    - Specify your preferred data directory and file name on your hard drive
  3. View the file
    - In Windows Explorer, doubleclick on the .xls file you want to view
    - The Viewer will open and load the file into it

There are also a number of other very handy viewers available - so you can read files in a proprietory format that you don't happen to have installed on your computer. See Microsoft's free Viewers.
