1851 Census - Enumerator's Comments

Hugh Armstrong Web Collection.. and then there's the one..

Enumerators comments found in the 1851 Census, Kingston Township:

"Mr Peter Asselstine is a millwright of considerable ingenuousness. He has discovered perpetual motion. His plan is nearly finished. He only wants some trifling thing and all will be completed. He has likewise discovered how a crank can be placed on a cylinder in such a manner that at every revolution (without increase in power) a saw will raise up and down twice and saw twice the quantity in the same space of time. This will be an incalculable acquistion to the owners of sawmills. He intends to apply to government for patents and renumeration in a short time."

What else did the people of Kingston Township tell this enumerator?
