Engineer - Headstack / Media Engineering
(Selangor - Petaling Jaya)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Headstack Product Electrical Yield Management – Improvement and Sustenance
  • Electrical Yield Analysis for New Product Builds in HSA and Evaluations Related to Test Time, Yield and Quality Improvement
  • Provide technical direction, FA and support in resolving yield and reliability issues related to Headstack / Media
  • Liaise with suppliers on failure analysis activities, review reports and developing new test to address relevant sources of failures

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master / Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

ASIA ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT - SPT DEPARTMENT
ENGINEER

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the performance and maintenance of production equipment in his area of responsibilities
• Implement systems to maintain and improve equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance of all manufacturing and associated equipment / machinery
• Plan and ensure a smooth of new product transfer program and meet product qualification program

Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferably with experience in handling automated test system or

ASIA ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT - SPT DEPARTMENT
PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities:
• Responsibilities includes of system architect, developing and qualifying Back-end test system for Hard Disk in factory. Develop and manage project designs and schedules
• Work closely with Vendors to ensure designs met WD requirements. Interface with factory team, drive development engineers and cross-functional groups in gathering design requirement inputs.
• Create technical specifications including electro-mechanical specifications, measurements and factory compliances. Lead team of engineers to achieve goals and objectives

Requirements:
• Degree (BSc. / MSc.) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Familiarize with high volume automation test equipments
• Minimum of 8 years or relevant working experience in design high volume automation Disk drive test equipment and digital / analog circuit.
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve complex electronics / firmware system.
• Knowledge of using engineering tools: Logic Analyzer, Bus Analyzer, Waveform generator, Power spectrum Analyzer.

ASIA CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DEPARTMENT
STAFF ENGINEER / SENIOR ENGINEER

Responsibilities:
• Support customers on customer requirements (e.g. customer report, factory data package, FA report, perform self audit, etc)
• Interface with internal and external customers on customer line & field quality-related issues
• Channel of communication to the factory for internal & external customers (internal customers: FAEs, FQEs, Sales, etc)
• Work towards achieving customer line and field dppm goals
• Follow-up and ensure timely closure of all customer complaint
• Coordinate, prepare and to ensure smooth customer visits and audits.

Requirements:
• Engineering Degree in E.E / Physics / Mechanical
• Min 7 years of working experience for Staff Engineer and 5 years for Sr Engineer in high volume manufacturing environment
• Preferably with working experience in QA, SQE or Customer Support

STAFF ENGINEER / SENIOR ENGINEER – DATA ANALYSIS

Responsibilities:
• Data packages – work with the respective departments at WDM, WDTh & WDLF on data packages
• Work with CSEs & CQEs / CQMs to evaluate, identify and solve technical problems
• Provide support to identify external exposure for all stop orders raise and to coordinate with the field people for field disposition
• Work closely with CSEs and CQEs on data analysis project with the ultimate goal of achieving customers’ goals

Requirements:
• BS in related field or equivalent work experience, plus 8 or more years related experience, or
• MS in related field or equivalent work experience, plus 6 or more years related experience, or
• 2+ years direct experience in either a data warehousing or high-volume manufacturing environment
• Hard drive industry is beneficial – business environment and challenges, products, competitors and suppliers
• Data warehousing or data mart experience is desired. Experience with databases is required

SENIOR ENGINEER / ENGINEER - DEBUG TEST

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain Debug Test software and Debug Test process for mass volume Hard Disk Drive production
• Work very closely with Product / FA engineers to develop accurate debug disposition for various failure modes
• Work with various functional group for continuous debug accuracy and rework yield improvement

Requirements:
• Bachelors in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Physics
• Knowledge in programming preferably C language
• Must have a passion for software
• Good analytical skill

MANUFACTURING EXECUTIVES

Responsibilities:
• Plan and organize available equipment, materials and manpower to meet production schedules
• Direct the flow of work to ensure if is in accordance to plan and recommend appropriate changes for improvements
• Control wastage’s and scrap in order to ensure profitability and efficiency of manufacturing
• Recommendations for changes and improvement to increase quantity and quality for output

Responsibilities:
• Ensure incoming components assigned meet or exceed WD Quality / Reliability goals

• Responsible for day to day activities for all IC components assigned
• Drive corrective action of suppliers to recover from quality deficiencies and sustain high level of Quality

SENIOR ENGINEER / ENGINEER

Responsibilities:
• Drive supplier to provide CA for WD factory quality issue. (Incoming, Yield, FQA & Reliability)
• Supplier Process Development, qualification and regular audit for supplier’s quality, process & material control system. This position requires travel to supplier sites (Domestic and overseas).
• New product / process audit, buy off on system / documentation readiness & outgoing quality.
• Follow up on cleanliness & ESD control system at supplier’s site.
• Follow up on supplier’s mechanical improvement / monitoring system. (Such as stiffener stamping and cover layer punching, connector auto line implementation)

Requirements:
• BSME or higher degree in related technical discipline or equivalent work experiences.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in supplier quality engineering / process engineering.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Good knowledge of mechanical components / assembly process and quality system.
• Perform statistical tolerance studies. Working knowledge of SPC.

PLANNER

Responsibilities:
• To manage and coordinate all activities pertaining to the generation of the weekly PCBA and Head Stack Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Ensure WIP & INVENTORY targets are met through proper supervision of the planning functions and coordination of the relevant activities with the Materials, Production, Engineering and other support departments.

Position #1:
SECURITY ASSISTANTS

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the physical security functions on total plant protection and this includes the checking, inspection, and reporting of all security related incidents and / or activities
  • Will also be responsible for the 24/7 shift patrol throughout the plant and its perimeters
  • To check and inspect all WDM staff, visitors, vendors and contractors when entering and leaving the plant’s premises
  • To record and issue security badges to all persons entering the company’s premises

Requirements:

  • Minimum SPM. A healthy person below 45 years of age
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Industrial / Commercial security
  • Malaysian citizen

POSITION #2:
SENIOR TECHNICIANS / TECHNICIANS - PCBA FAILURE ANALYSIS

Responsibilities:

  • Perform failure analysis on drive PCBAs related failures
  • Support engineers in performing failure analysis on internal PCBA failures and external drive returned boards
  • Understand and accept responsibility for performing their jobs safely.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering with 1 year experience in failure analysis
  • Experience in PCBA or Semiconductor failure analysis industry would be an added advantage

POSITION #3:
TECHNICAL SPECIALISTS / SENIOR TECHNICIANS / TECHNICIANS – FACILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • To inspect facilities equipment everyday and fill in the daily equipment log sheet, report to Chargeman for any abnormal situation
  • Able to carry out troubleshooting for electrical / air conditioning failures and suggest corrective actions
  • Able to carry out preventive maintenance work for mechanical equipment’s
  • To carry out preventive maintenance work as directed by Chargeman or Engineer
  • To carry out corrective action for power trip
  • To provide necessary back-up support for the contractor as and when required
  • Change lamps and light fittings
  • Release passengers trapped in the lift
  • Change over of equipment, starting / stopping facilities equipments
  • To carry out preliminary investigation to malfunctioning of facilities equipment
  • Assist contractor as and when required

Requirements:

  • Chargeman Competency Certificate (AO) / Wireman
  • To carry out troubleshooting for electrical failures and corrective actions
  • To lead the technician's
  • At least 3 years of working experience in electrical installation
  • To lead the technicians

POSITION #4:
TECHNICIANS – HSA PROCESS

Responsibilities:

  • Provide troubleshooting services for daily maintenance process, component or fixtures problems and to continue into containment action and long term solutions
  • Provide the operations with instruction on manufacturing methods, assembly instructions, rejects disposal and all other technical guidance as deemed necessary
  • Maintain and update a working knowledge on process flow, fixture design / maintenance, piece part configuration or any other assigned technical area.
  • Maintain surveillance on the operations health by way of key indices in the form of fixture downtime. Process yields, DPPM’s, CPK’s etc. and to react to any abnormalities display by the said indices
  • Assist engineers in product and technology transfer between work sites
  • Provide technical training on the specified technical areas technicians / engineering operators and manufacturing personnel etc.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Mechanical) from Private Colleges, Polytechnics, UTM/ITM with 5-8 years relevant technical experience
  • Computer literate i.e. software package and programming languages will be an added advantage

POSITION #5:
TECHNICIANS - ASIA ENGINEERING MECHANICAL

Responsibilities:

  • Provide troubleshooting services for daily disposition process, component or fixtures of problems to optimize disposition operation
  • Provide the operations with instructions on disposition methods, rejects disposal and all other technical guidance as deemed necessary
  • Maintain and update a working knowledge on specific components, fixture design, piece part configuration or any other assigned technical area
  • Participate in product and technology transfer between work sites
  • Provide technical training on specific technical areas to disposition operator / engineering operator / technicians and manufacturing
  • Maintain specific component lab equipment
  • Provide component support to engineering group etc. Reliability Engineering and Product Engineering in cases of FA, EEN / PMT failures
  • Training will be provided on acoustics data acquisition and analysis

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Science (Physics)
  • Minimum 1 years working experience in high volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge in disk drive will be an advantage
  • Experience in acoustics testing will be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to work on rotating shifts

POSITION #6:
TECHNICIANS – ASIA ENGINEERING AS LAB

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance / support to Analytical Services engineers in terms of analysis requests and laboratory administration.
  • Assisting engineer in drive teardown and preparing sample for further analysis by engineers
  • Following-up on calibration and carrying out preventive maintenance of analytical instruments
  • Inventory control of lab consumables / chemicals
  • Preparation of analytical / routine presentation reports
  • Filing and compiling analytical reports accordingly
  • Ensuring that instruments are in working condition i.e. topping up with liquid nitrogen

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Industrial Chemistry or equivalent
  • Fresh grad or 1-2 years experience working in a chemical lab

Position #7:
TECHNICIANS - TOOLING / EQUIPMENT

Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance and repairing services for fixtures, equipment and tooling used in manufacturing activities
  • Provide engineering support for new product transfer, end-of-life product control and set-up of production modules
  • Provide preventive maintenance and calibration for fixtures, tooling and hand tools
  • Perform fixture / tooling troubleshooting and repair during normal shift hours
  • Trace machine and tooling failure down to component level and make spare parts exchange
  • Attend training on new product fixtures / equipment / tooling
  • Participate / assist in teardown and set-up of production fixtures / tooling as required
  • Participate / assist engineer to support PMT for new product transfer
  • Participate / assist engineer to support improvement program and downtime reduction

Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Mechanical / Electrical) from Universities, Colleges, Polytechnics or its equivalent
  • School leavers (STPM) with relevant experience maybe considered in a case to case basis
  • Preferably with minimum 1 year related working experience in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Willing to work on rotating shift

Position #8:
TECHNICIANS - ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT (SPT)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive / line maintenance of assigned manufacturing equipment
  • Responsible for set-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and equipment improvement projects
  • Ensure that manufacturing equipment operate at peak performance and to minimize any potential major breakdown of manufacturing equipment by performing regular and periodic preventive maintenance
  • Ensure that all safety and housekeeping instructions and Plantwide programs are adhered
  • Ensure superior is well informed on daily line events

Requirements:

  • Higher Diploma / Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Preferably with minimum 1 year related working experience in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Willing to work on rotating shift

POSITION #9:
TECHNICIANS - ASIA ENG PROCESS (CLEANROOM)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with specific technical expertise in the effort to support Manufacturing activities with particular reference to process, tooling, contamination control, components or automation
  • Form part of the technical resource pool to support new product transfer, EOL product control and any process / component changes
  • Provide troubleshooting services for daily maintenance process, component or fixtures problems and to continue into containment action and long term solutions
  • Provide the operations with instruction on manufacturing methods, assembly instructions, rejects disposal and all other technical guidance as deemed necessary
  • Maintain and update a working knowledge on process flow, fixture design / maintenance, piece part configuration or any other assigned technical area
