Paul Verhoeven, Director
I can't think of a single Verhoeven movie that isn't underrated. The question is how much is it that they are underrated. Paul's is probably the saddest story out there. His movies didn't do very well (compared to their expensive budgets) and now he's going back to making inexpensive dutch movies, the next one comes out in 2005, and is called Zwartboek.
1. Starship Troopers (Special Edition)

. This movie is one of the greatest sarcastic movies of our time. If you've watched this, but haven't appreciated how excellent the writing is, then you need to watch it again.
2. Showgirls

. There really is a story here, and a good one. Maybe you should just watch it without the picture, if you don't like it.
3. Robocop

. Same writer as Starship Troopers, Edward Neumeier, one of the greatest writers of our time.
4. Hollow Man

. Sure, it had a stupid ending, but what big budget movie doesn't.
5. Basic Instinct (Collector's Edition - Unrated)

1. The Iron Giant

. This has probably the best story of any cartoon.
2. 'The Incredibles'. My prediction is that this is going to be the best selling movie of all time. But, people just won't get how incredibly great the film is.

Star Trek, Odd-numbered movies
In my opinion, these are much better than the even numbered ones, which is much different than conventional wisdom.
