The show is not even over and I can not stand to watch more. 48 hours, certainly one would hope a show which should rise to a higher standard, is tonight joining the ever growing ranks of the believers in occult nonsense. The 1st segment was some guy communicating with the dead, using all the old tricks to dupe his "subject". And 48 hours is not challenging him at all !!! I am so appalled I submitted the following letter to 48 hours,

dear 48 hours,

Well now I've seen it all. CBS, once the most respected news network has fallen under the occult spell. HOW DARE you put on a show about pshycics and people that communicate with the dead without having someone of reason on to challenge. What has happened to the editorial departments of this "profession" of journalism. This type of nonsense now seems to be dominating the airwaves, all in the name of selling products to more of the chumps out there who fall for this garbage. The guy giving the women the story of her dead mother used all the classic tricks of the mindreading magician, and you treated him as though he actually had powers !! Are you that naive ?? Or is it more ? Perhaps you think it is not harmful to broadcast this sort of trash. But think again, you are leading a large part of the american population down the path of medieval belief. Belief in ghosts and people with magic powers. The type of beliefs that we finally bagan to rid ourselves of after thousands of years of sacrificing to the gods, and burning of witches. I remind you that not all sacrifices in the past were animals. Many think this type of sloppy thinking is harmless. Were Applewhite's beliefs harmless when all those people committed suicide to join a comet following spaceship. And Dan Rather ???!!! How can you participate in this outrageous nonsense. I have lost any respect I ever had for you. Shame on all of you for this tripe !! You should all go work at FOX, where this type of trash is the norm !!! You can be sure I will redouble my efforts as a skeptic to fight this garbage in the modern media. I suggest a few of your producers start learning to think for themselves, instead of being dupes for the flim flam artists whom seem to have taken over the news rooms of this country. Shame on all of you !!!

It is frustrating these days that more and more of this garbage is on mainstream TV and media every day. What is going on here. Have all the editors gone mad ?? Or is it all about bucks !! We certainly need to increase our efforts to get the word out that people need to start thinking instead of letting themselves be chumped !! Woo to the world if this keeps up... How can we ever solve the environmental and other problems if almost the entire population of the world is running around asking pshycics for advice !!!
