ShogoMAD 3 vs. 3 Double Elimination Tournament

Rules and Guidelines

General Information:
Tournament will be 3 versus 3, double elimination. 1st loss puts you in the lower bracket, 2nd loss = eliminated. Players need not be from the same MaD/clan to be on a team together. Players may not play on multiple teams in the tournament, nor substitute for absent players. 3 maps will be played in each round, and will be a mixture of both MCA and OF.

Registration:
Registration will begin August 22nd. Last day to sign-up will be September 3rd. First round of the tournament will start September 6th. Register your team here

Server Settings for each map:
Time Limit: 20 minutes
Frag Limit: 40 (team score)
Run Speed: 1.2
Missle Speed: 1.0
Respawn: 1.0
Heal 1.0
Ramming: Off

Servers:
Tournament matches will be played on ShogoMAD sanctioned servers only, and will be running the latest Anti-Cheat package available. Players must load Anti-Cheat client v3.43 to play. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Referees:
Each match will have at least 1 referee present. Referees will be appointed by ShogoMAD admins (in most cases will be the admins) to help ensure that fairness is maintained. They will also be responsible for keeping match score, taking screenshots, and keeping the match under control. As with any sport, the referee is in charge and will have the ability to stop the match if deemed necessary. Keep it friendly!

Scoring:
Winners will determined by total number of frags tallied throughout the 3 maps in each round. This method was chosen because we feel it is a better representation of the match, and ensures close matches go to the team who did better overall.

Scheduling:
Teams will be responsible for scheduling matches for each round of the tournament. Each round of the tournament will last 7 days, and will begin on every week on Monday. A thread will be posted by an admin for each game in the Tournament Scheduling Forum. Use the thread with your team name in it each week to schedule a game date/time with your opponent. Match times will be subject to approval by the referee scheduled to your game. (Example)

Re-Scheduling:
In the event that a player on a team is unable to make it to a match, it may be re-scheduled as long as it is before the end of that half of the week. If a match does not occur by the end of the week, a Tournament Admin will make a determination and designate a winning team by default.

Insubordination:
Excessive abuse to referees, tournament administrators, or other players will not be tolerated. A general guideline for abusive behaviour is as follows:
1st incident: Verbal warning
2nd incident: Expulsion from the match + team forfeit
3rd incident: Expulsion from the tournament + removal of team from tournament
These consequences may or may not be exercised, and are at the referees/tournament administrators sole discretion. In the event that a player is expelled from the tournament, the team also forfeits, so keep it friendly!

Cheating:
Any player thought to be cheating by a referee and/or tournament administrator may cause a forfeiture of their team and removal from the tournament. Please note that every measure will be taken to verify any such instances and will go under review before any decisions are made. If a referee suspects any cheating during a match, it will be immediately stopped and will not continue until a review of the matter with a tournament adminstrator can be performed.

Team Practices:
Teams may request server time (in 1 hour blocks) for team practices or scrimmages. Server time will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis, and all requested practices will be subject to approval or change based upon tournament match scheduling.

Special Case Scenarios:
In the event that the rules above do not cover a specific situation/scenario, tournament referees and administrators have the right to make decisions on the fly.
