You can use the following special terms to modify your search:

Use an asterisk to match part of a word: "alien*" will match alien, aliens,
alienation, and so forth.
and
This is the default - if you search for "alien autopsy", then
both of those terms must be in the resulting document - this is equivalent
to searching for "alien and autopsy".
or
If you separate searches with or then either of the terms can be
in the resulting document. For example, "alien or autopsy" will match
alien abduction or JFK autopsy.
not
To exclude documents that contain a certain term, use not:
"alien not autopsy"
( parenthesis )
Use parenthesis to modify the left-to-right interpretation of
your search query: "ufo not (alien autopsy)"
