Chief Hashiba's dub name...
By TKTakeru on Thu 04 Oct, 2007 - 11:44 pm.
Jeff says that Chief Hashiba will be dubbed as Director Hashima. Sounds better to me. Easier to pronounce!

And he will be played Doug Stone- known for his roles as Teyaki Uchiha in Naruto, as well as Stoner in Eureka 7.

Kurata's dub name...
By TKTakeru on Thu 04 Oct, 2007 - 07:49 pm.
Jeff's let us know that Kurata's dub name will be... Kurata! His voice actor has still not recorded yet though, so he hasn't been revealed yet.

Bio-Hybrids and Young Thomas...
By TKTakeru on Wed 03 Oct, 2007 - 07:41 pm.
When they show Thomas as a young child, he will be voiced by Mona Marshall (Izzy/Digimon, Terriermon/Digimon). Coincidently, she will also be playing Frigimon, as previously announced.

As for the Bio-Hybrid trio, their names will all remain the same- Kouki, Nanami, and Ivan. Jeff admits though that he was wanting to change Nanami to Naomi, but was over-ruled. XD

He will keep the actors that he's selected a secret until they actually record, so that there's no whining just in case they aren't able to take the roles. Jeff also mentions that one of them is a new-comer to dub acting all together, so we probably won't even recognize him. The other two are long time favorite actors of his, and that we will go nuts when we hear who they are.

Comments gone.
By TKTakeru on Wed 03 Oct, 2007 - 05:59 pm.
Tried to make a post congratulating those Digimon dub crew members who were nice enough to stop by and see what we though. I specifically said only positive comments. I get home from work and see nothing but 98 comments of mainly pure filth.

Thanks to all those who decided to totally hijack the comments, they're now gone. Thanks a lot guys. Yall are true assholes in every sense.

And sorry to those who follow the rules and post comments that add to the conversation at hand. You have a few choice people to thank for that.

UPDATE: After talking with Jeff, I've decided to bring the comments back. Mugen is banned, and if anything like that ever happens again, everyone who posts pertaining to the argument will be banned.

I should not have to skim through 100 posts of "dub sucks cause of x and y" and "yall should stop arguing!" There is no reason. Like I said, the next time this happens, it'll be the last time posting for whoever's involved. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but when I say "this article is to thank these three. Leave positive comments only," I mean it.

If you have such strong opinions, take them to the forum. The comments are just that- comments.

For Colleen, Jeff, and Melissa...
By TKTakeru on Tue 02 Oct, 2007 - 08:50 pm.
Colleen O'Shaughnessey (Yoshino), Melissa Fahn (Kristy Damon), and Jeff Nimoy (Digimon Data Squad Director) are officially the best Digimon crew members, ever!

Check out the past news articles' comment pages- they're littered with comments from these 3. ^_^ It really shows the support and care that these guys put into their work and give the Digimon community! It's also really nice to hear from them on a personal level, and to let them see how much we support and appreciate them.

I know that this was only the first episode, but I just can't stress how happy I am to see the people behind the characters here for us to talk to. :) Feel free to leave any positive comments here for Colleen, Jeff, and Melissa. Hopefully they'll be back for every new episode to see what we think and to give our appreciation. :D

Few bits of info from Jeff...
By TKTakeru on Tue 02 Oct, 2007 - 05:53 pm.
Hey everyone. Jeff Nimoy sent an email to Chis McFeely, GoC, and I regarding what DNA really means. He says it stands for Digimon Natural Ability, and that it will be explained in episode 12.

He also let us know that Marcus calling Agumon his "employee" was just a joke that Marcus was making in the episode. He says that he will refer to the joke again in either episode 5 or 6, but then will rarely use the term again, if ever.

Thanks for everything Jeff! Remember everyone, episode 2 airs this Friday at 8:30 PM EDT. Check your local listings as your time may be different!

Oh, and I've also added a page for quotes that I wrote down for the episode. You can see those by clicking the link either on the episode panel above, or on the left sidebar. Enjoy!

Digimon Data Squad on Youtube...
By TKTakeru on Tue 02 Oct, 2007 - 06:33 am.
Mystical from Azala has uploaded the first episode of Digimon Data Squad to YouTube. You can see it here: Intro, part 1, part 2, part 3.

Please keep in mind, try to not resort to Youtube unless you absolutely have to. If you can watch the show at home, please do it so that Digimon doesn't loose its ratings.

Hopefully Jetix will be smart and upload the episodes to their online TV feeds so that Digimon fans who do not get ToonDisney can see the new season.

Oh yes, and Hiroshi Yushima's dub name is Homer Yushima. And GeoGreymon is played by Brian Beacock as well.

Data Squad first thoughts...
By TKTakeru on Mon 01 Oct, 2007 - 08:16 pm.
Flaredramon's power went out so his review will come later. But for now, here's my thoughts.

-The opening was a little generic and forgettable. I'm sure if I hear it more, I'll like it better. >_< Here's the lyrics (it either said reach your soul or release your soul- but they say reach in the next line, so I think it has to be release):

When you have to face a fight
Be strong, give it all your might
(Digimon, Di Di Data Squad)
Release your soul,
And you will reach your goal!
Prepare to Digivolve!
(Di, Di, Di, Digimon)
Never surrender
Never be outdone
Cause the challenge ain't over
We've only just begun
Digimon!

-It seems like Yoshino is referred to as Yoshino, and Lalamon is the one to call her Yoshi.
-Agumon, like said before calls Marcus 'boss', and Marcus refers to Agumon as his 'employee'.
-Kamemon spoke. He says "enjoy" when giving Marcus a drink. When Marcus seems unthankful, Kamemon says "suit yourself." His voice is kind of low and slow- can't pinpoint who exactly it reminds me of. Good though, since he's a turtle.
-Sayuri (Marcus's mom) is called Sarah.
-Lalamon's attack is known as Seed Blast.
-The background music for the Digivolution is a rock mix that stretches through the battle. Sounds nice.
-GeoGreymon's attack is Mega Flame.
-First Digimon season ever to have a "next time of Digimon!" at the end. Woo!

Over-all, EXCELLENT. Actors/actresses all sound very natural. Go to our discussion topic in the forums. Link is on the "last episode" panel above. Also, you can check out screenshots and an episode guide for this episode using the same panel or the left side navigation.

New layout with Data Squad premier...
By TKTakeru on Sun 30 Sep, 2007 - 03:00 pm.
It's finally almost here. Yay! In celebration of Digimon Data Squad's premier tomorrow, I have re-designed TDP's layout! We're back to a totally black background. Those who don't like their "eyes to burn" will be pleased. Feel free to take a look around, and big thanks to Splash for the scans used to make some of the banner.

Don't forget to catch Digimon Data Squad tomorrow night at 8:30 PM on Toon Disney's Jetix block! It's been so long since we've had a new dub episode, let me just remind everyone- TDP will have an episode guide and screenshots from the episode. We also have a discussion topic up at the Digital Dive forums here. In addition, Flaredramon will be posting his episode review.

Vic Mignogna...
By TKTakeru on Sat 29 Sep, 2007 - 11:17 am.
Vic Mignogna, best known for his work on Full Metal Alchemist as Edward Elric, is not going to be in Digimon Data Squad. Jeff Nimoy has said that since he currently lives outside of the Los Angeles area, he wouldn't be able to hire him as part of the cast. Jeff does go on to say though that if Vic were to move back to L.A., he'd love to use him in the show.

Also, I've hired Flaredramon from our forums as our new episode reviewer for Digimon Data Squad. Thanks to everyone for their applications, and congrats Flaredramon!

Bob Klein...
By TKTakeru on Thu 27 Sep, 2007 - 06:54 am.
Jeff Nimoy has said that Bob Klein, the man who replaced all of his roles in season two after he left, will be in Data Squad. Bob Klein is most notable as Gomamon and Ikkakumon from the first two seasons.

Klein could be possible reprising his role as Gomamon in Digimon Data Squad.
