| Digimon Data Squad Background Information | |
Marcus Damon is a 14 year old who claims himself to be the number one fighter in Japan. He unexpectedly encounters an Agumon who has just escaped from the government organization known as DATS, or Data Squad. Marcus and Agumon challenge each other to a fight and find they're both equally matched. After befriending each other, Agumon and Marcus are able to defeat a rampaging Digimon through the use of Marcus's DNA, allowing Agumon to Digivolve.
The commander of DATS sees Marcus and Agumon's strength and drafts them onto his active team, along with current members Yoshi, Lalamon, Thomas, and Gaomon. It is discovered that the wall between the Digital World and the real world is beginning to deteriorate, and this is why Digimon are appearing in the real world. It is now the duty of DATS to protect the real world from these Digimon, while trying to find the reason behind the deteriorating barrier.
