The Role, reporting to the Location Manager, will focus on an ongoing maintenance agenda leading a multi-disciplined team of technicians and specialist contractors, aiming at a sustained high level of % plant availability while continuing to reap further operational gains. It will drive all elements of equipment and infrastructure care in short, medium and long term planning modes.

The workforce is deployed across multi shift patterns to give total support to a plant working to defined customer requirements and specifications.

Key tasks include :
- Planning and developing the maintenance cycle and related techniques,
- Budgetary control,
- Development and discipline of engineering workforce,
- Diagnosis and elimination of repetitive failures,
- Effective breakdown response,
- Major shut down planning .

Candidates will need to be experienced engineering professionals offering a well rounded combination of people management, communication and organisational skills able to plan/execute to short term horizons and beyond. Likely to be graduate/ chartered with a strong combination of professional intellect and practicality, with at least 5 years influential front line leadership experience in delivering World Class engineering performance. Previous experience of similar metallurgical/ engineering processes will assist familiarisation but intrinsic qualities are of greater importance.
