Reporting to the President, International, this senior role within DJO has a number of key responsibilities:
• Assume full responsibility for the UK and Ireland sales function ensuring DJO's sales targets are achieved and all agreed objectives and actions plans are implemented.
• Develop and implement a sales plan ensuring market share and profit growth objectives are achieved coupled with setting specific targets for sales staff.
• Recruit, manage, direct and coach the UK sales team, ensuring that they are fully focussed on achieving the company's goals and objectives. Proactively manage individual performance through a combination of regular appraisals and on the job coaching. In conjunction with the International Training Manager you will ensure that sales skills are maintained particularly in the areas of product knowledge, selling skills and IT skills.
• Organise and run quarterly sales meetings whilst also ensuring regular and ongoing communication with sales. Work closely with individual sales representatives, monitoring performance and identifying areas for improvement.
• In conjunction with the UK Marketing Manager you will analyse market intelligence to capitalise on new opportunities as they occur to minimise the effects of competitor activity.
• Develop and recommend a pricing strategy whilst ensuring that sales staff work within agreed quotation and discounting procedures.
• Present monthly activity reports and sales figures at Company meetings recommending improvement to sales.
Who we're looking for:
The successful National Sales Manager will be an effective, influential and motivational manager. You will possess an in-depth knowledge of all sales activities with the ability to display a demonstrable track record of sales success in your career. You will have a significant managerial track record and be able to recognise and effectively handle problem situations. The successful individual will ideally have a good knowledge of the healthcare market and preferably the orthopaedic sector. You should be an excellent communicator with highly effective time management skills and the ability to build effective and solid relationships. Your IT literacy and numeracy skills will be first class and you may have previous experience of using or even implementing a CRM system. The National Sales Manager will report into the Guildford office although significant UK travel will also be involved.
