A commercially focussed executive is required to lead the UK Mobile & Fixed telecommunications industry in the complex task of creating a commercial architecture and drafting the multilateral agreements for the implementation of the shared commercial issues driven by the Ofcom final statement on number portability. The Ofcom statement will bring considerable benefits to consumers and the telecommunications market in the UK.
This individual will be part of a small Independent programme team which is being put together by Peter Black (currently Telecommunications Adjudicator) on behalf of Ofcom and the Mobile & Fixed telecommunications industry. The role reports to the Executive Chairman of UKPorting Peter Black.
The programme team will collectively facilitate and drive the UK Telecommunications Industry to achieve both the technical and commercial implementation, including co-ordinating many multi-lateral meetings and activities. Flexibility can be provided to suit the right individual by this appointment being made on a full time, fixed contract or an interim basis.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned veteran from within the telecommunications industry, who has:
• been a Product Director or similar with full P&L accountability
• an exceptional programme delivery track record
• strong leadership and facilitation skills combined with creative flair
• worked within a B2B or a B2C environment
• led a start up or new entrant programme
• had hands-on experience of creating, obtaining buy-in and then implementing complex commercial projects and/or product launches
• a working knowledge of the challenges of number portability would be useful but not essential
The role would suit individuals with significant experience in the telecommunications industry who feel they can give their experience to the UK in support of a project that is expected to bring significant benefit to consumers and the UK market place.
