Joining Scribd

Background
Scribd is a small but rapidly growing startup in San Francisco developing the next generation of document technology. We've made a phenomenally successful product, supported over 10 million users, raised money from some of the world's leading investors, and have some big dreams. Working at Scribd is a unique experience, much more like starting your own startup than working at a big company.

Scribd is a high-energy, exciting environment. We work in a closely-knit team of highly talented programmers, and we get a lot done. We're still a tiny company (just 8 people!), so we all wear multiple hats, designing, implementing and testing our own code.

At Scribd, we set out with the mission of unlocking the information in documents by putting it on the web, and we believe in it. If you'd like to help us with that, send us an email at jobs@scribd.com.

Hiring Philosophy
Things we care about with hackers are creativity, passion, incredible technical ability, and a drive to build interesting things. We don't care much about what programming languages you know right now. We like people who are creative enough to have built cool things on their own, and ambitious enough to want to do a startup.

Working here
The Scribd team is passionate, talented, hard-working, and fun. At our office in beautiful San Francisco, you'll find us holding group brainstorming sessions, working at 2AM, and riding Trip's scooter around the office at breakneck speed. We offer competitive salaries, generous equity stakes, health insurance, and free food from local restaurants.
