1568 Scots Brigade
formed for service in Holland
1688 James II recalled brigade to English establishment, but only 60 of 290 officers responded, the remainder forming part of William of Orange's invasion force.  Three regiments remained in Scotland until 1692.
1783 Brigade returned to Scotland, refusing to follow order to adopt Dutch uniforms, Colours and language.
1794.10.09 Scotch Brigade
placed on British establishment and 3 bns re-formed in Scotland
1802.12.25 94th Regiment of Foot
1809.04.07 regiment erroneously ordered to omit "Highland" from title and Highland dress, probably mistaken for 93rd Highlanders
1818.12.24 disbanded, officers remaining on half-pay

1823.12.01 94th Regiment of Foot
re-formed at Glasgow from officers on half-pay
1875 deemed to be successor of previous 94th Regt and inherited its honours
1881.07.01 united with 88th Regiment of Foot (Connaught Rangers), to form
