SHERYL GOLDSTEIN JOINS ABOUT.COM AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SALES

NEW YORK CITY, Nov. 15, 2007 - About.com, one of the 15 most visited Web sites in the U.S., announced that it has appointed Sheryl A. Goldstein as senior vice president, sales.  

Ms. Goldstein brings 25 years of professional experience to About.com, with over a decade in the interactive marketing and advertising space.  Most recently, she was regional sales director for America Online (AOL).  There, Ms. Goldstein oversaw a sales staff which managed blue-chip accounts such as Procter & Gamble Company and Verizon Communications.  She also helped to develop AOL’s market strategy for targeting clients in the pharmaceutical and media categories.  Before her appointment to regional sales director, Ms. Goldstein held senior sales and category strategy roles at AOL.

At About.com, Ms. Goldstein reports to the president and CEO, Scott Meyer.  Her primary responsibilities include building and managing About.com’s sales organization, establishing relationships with senior advertising agency executives, developing and driving broad-based strategic and tactical sales plans and identifying and evaluating priority markets and segments for About.com’s current and new product offerings.

Before working at AOL, Ms. Goldstein held sales and marketing positions at Luminant Worldwide, where she was principal, marketing strategy group, and Sterling Group, a brand strategy, design and consulting company, where she was senior vice president, business development.  She holds a B.S. in Communications from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications.
