Sam helped Carly out at Metro, earning some flirting in return. They mused about Kit's jailhouse New Year's and Carly wondered if Sam could do another performance at Metro. "I'm yours for as long as you need me," said Sam. He asked Carly about "Detective Do-Right" approving of his extended stay. Carly didn't much care what Jack thought, bitterly hoping that Jack would win back Katie like he wanted. Then, a guy tried to woo Sam to a four-week gig in Austin. He turned it down to keep working for Carly, much to Carly's shock. Back at Metro, when Carly acknowledged she couldn't pay Sam what the Austin gig could, he floated another idea: staying at the house longer. Despite the related Jack issues, Carly agreed and Sam beamed victoriously.
Down on the farm, Jack was just as surly as Parker. Luckily, Parker had "something guaranteed to win Katie back." At the Lakeview, Brad put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign for himself and Katie. Jack was wary of Parker's plans, since one had gotten Katie whacked with a puck. "Start small and never give up," Jack's guru advised. In the Lakeview lobby, Jack called Katie's phone and he and Henry got the audio feed of her and Brad's ecstasy. Ew. Jack flew upstairs and actually kicked down Katie's door as the sounds of her moans reached a crescendo. He was shocked to see them... competitively playing a video game. Psych! After boggling at Jack, Brad left Jack and Katie alone to talk. Jack claimed he wasn't jealous. Riiight. Katie told Jack that "Operation Babymaking" was over, at Brad's behest. Downstairs, Brad told Henry a Jack/Katie reunion was "the horriblest" idea. Brad told Henry he had stopped the sex and just was enjoying Katie. After cringing from the TMI, Henry realized Brad had it baaad. Jack told Katie that Brad had gone chaste because of their fight on New Year's Eve. Katie fired back that she'd gotten with Brad not just for sex but also to hurt Jack. She acknowledged how crazy having a revenge baby had been, and noted that she needed to stay away from Jack. Jack tried to put the moves on her and she wasn't havin' it: "I can't trust you anymore." Empathetic Henry swore he wouldn't publicize Brad's feelings. "You are going to suffer," he sighed. Jack apologized to Katie, tearfully giving her Parker's hockey tickets and warned her off "stray pucks." Henry offered Brad a drink when Brad realized she'd kicked Jack out. He rushed upstairs to find her crying...and amorous. Despite her steamy kisses, he gasped "I can't," and pulled away. Down on the farm, Jack told Parker that Brad makes Katie genuinely happy. Katie accused Brad of being just like Jack and kicked him out. Out in the hall, Brad said what he couldn't say in front of her: "I love you."
Meg called Paul to spill the paternity switcheroo while a distracted Craig met with an architect about the nursery. Meg explained Craig's odd behavior and Paul scoffed that she didn't want to believe she's having "Satan's spawn." She offered to get him proof and he remained skeptical until she made a passionate plea. Meg and Paul arrived at Memorial for a new DNA test, where Susan refused to help. When Paul noted Susan doesn't like him, Susan spat, "I don't like blueberries; you, I despise!" She eventually caved. Craig wandered around Memorial looking for Evan's office and ran into Susan outside hers (Paul and Meg were inside). Awk. Ward. Susan sniped at Craig and stalked off. When Paul realized Meg was freaked out, he demanded she tell him what Craig had done to her. Craig ran into Margo and Daniel at the Lakeview, and he asked his sister how she'd learned to love a child that wasn't hers. Back at Memorial, Susan came back with preliminary results, and Meg translated for Paul: "You're the father!" Margo pointed out Tom is the love of her life and she loves having Daniel in that life. Craig marveled at her generosity and the siblings shared a sweet moment. Meanwhile, an absolutely giddy Paul and Meg arrived at Yo's, but despite the smoochies, there was still Rosanna to consider. Meg thought Ro had switched the results. They continued to twinkle and Paul warned Meg against telling Craig too soon. Craig mulled over Margo's advice and realized he could raise Paul's baby after all.

At Al's, Luke and Noah chastely discussed the upcoming Oakdale U. semester. Noah mused that the dorms weren't the "best place" for his boyfriend. Luke prickled, not wanting to be coddled ("cuddled" maybe), and then Noah suggested they get a place together. Henry, topping off their cups, looked like he was remembering the Maddie Movie-In Fiasco of 2007. On cue, the guys asked about her. Awk.Ward. But back to Noah and Luke shacking up.
Noah wanted to be a "couple" and have a "real life." Luke worried about this speeding up their "you know" timetable. Noah finished his thought: "There'd be nothing holding us back." (This is daytime: We know they'll just be playing Parcheesi.) While Noah pondered listings, Luke asked Henry if he was weirded out seeing him with Noah. Nope! The brother of his boyfriend's ex-girlfriend then gave him some "completely unsolicited advice": "Don't move in with Noah." He thought Luke needed the "grand experience" of dorm life before having to be an adult. He didn't want to be "Debbie Downer," but he praised the "courtship" phase of a relationship. (Even he knows they'll just play Parcheesi and wants them to save on rent.) After some apartment hunting, the boys ended up at the seldom-seen Java. Luke wondered if they were rushing into things and made his pro-dorm pitch again. When Noah still wasn't havin' it, Luke brought up how fast he'd moved in with Maddie. Noah explained that Luke (and Luke's family) was all he had now. Aw! After a "mystery phone call," Luke said Noah's Biggest Fan, Emma, agreed he could live at the farm permanently. (In a separate room, of course.) They shared a blatantly kiss-less hug as Luke gave him an official house key.
In Old Town, Lily told Lucinda that she and Dusty were finito. Bonnie interrupted breakfast with Holden and the girls. She'd brought the entire series of THE TWILIGHT ZONE for the gals to marathon. "Dad can do popcorn and we can make cookies!" Faith cheered. (Yay, she likes food again!) Big Lucy tried to give snippy Lily some sensible advice. "Can you fix my marriage?" a bewildered Lily asked. Lucinda offered her hugs and the four kids' hugs as a replacement for Dusty and Holden's arms. Of course, what Lily preferred was her pills! At the farm, Bonnie cheated on the cookies with Brad's leftover store-bought dough (blasphemy!) and earned Holden's thanks. Naturally Lily arrived ready to bond with her family, and found Bonnie playing happy homemaker. "You couldn't wait till the ink was dry?" she sniped. Cue some serious yelling and Holden pulling Lily outside. Holden told her to dial down the attitude in front of the kids. High flyin' Lily apologized for losing it, but Holden pointed it was too late; the kids wouldn't forget. They bonded over Lily's issues before Holden went inside. Lily followed and apologized to everyone for yelling. Back outside, she and Holden shared a sweet moment.
Chris and Emily had a minor spat about closet space (Zzzzzzzz) that Chris used to revisit the topic of cohabitating. Emily distracted him with a smooch and left for work. Downstairs, Dusty's investigator admitted there had been a drug residue on Bob's cup. Emily walked up and blasted Dusty for his digging. She realized he thought Chris did the poisoning. The young lad in question walked up on the argument, wondering, "What crime have I committed?" (Besides making Emily seem like she's committing statutory rape?) Cue threeway snark and much invading of personal bubbles. Chris told Dusty to go to the cops if he was so sure. After some more Natural Geographic nature special-style male posturing, Evan interrupted demanding Chris go public with his research. Chris was resistant. Cue more chest-thumping and then Chris caving. Emily thought they should keep Evan "on the downlow." "Dusty got to you, didn't he?" Chris demanded. At Memorial, Dusty asked Ali to keep her eye on Chris. "Forget it!" said Ali-Cat, refusing to mess with Emily's happiness. Emily cheered up her boytoy before he went back to playing doctor. Chris cornered Ali about talking to Dusty while Emily encountered Dusty in Old Town. Ali played things close to the vest with Chris...except for revealing Dusty loves Emily. In Old Town, sparks flew between that very duo.

On set at OAKDALE NOW, Brad told Katie she's lookin' purty. Okay, not in those exactly terms, but Katie couldn't exactly take a compliment. She was too bummed about putting Jack in the past and Brad's vow of chastity. They filmed a segment about lingerie, which led to Brad fantasizing about Katie modeling it. "I can't wait to get you back in the sack!" he blurted out on camera. Thank goodness for post-production editing! Unfortunately, Katie no longer felt like getting pregnant by Brad. (Yes, that's a fast turnaround.) "What changed here?" Brad boggled. "We're great friends. That's all we should be," she told him. She wanted a real relationship — and not with him. In fact, tonight she had a "date with my new Mr. Right." Katie then arrived for a speed dating thing at the Lakeview and ran into Vienna. V promptly told Brad to crash it. She even helped do her part, in adorable Vienna fashion. Naturally, Katie wasn't happy to see Brad...and Brad wasn't happy to see another "wacky" speed dating candidate. Katie had better luck with a hunky firefighter. Brad ripped up their cards so they'd think they didn't pick each other. Vienna asked Katie to give Brad another chance, but Katie insisted she and Brad wouldn't work out. She did accept his "consolation latte," though. Of course, she ran into Firehunk and realized what Brad had done! "You are so busted!" she told Brad, before ripping him a new one.
At Memorial, Gwen and Will introduced Hallie to Chris (they can have a play date!). Chris said he thought he met the birth mom. At Java, Aaron loaned his manly shoulder to Sofie and offered to help her move to the Lakeview. After Aaron left, Chris arrived and butted into Sofie's personal business, saying he saw Hallie. (Way to rub salt in the wound, Doc!) Of course, then Sofie ran into Gwen and Hallie in front of the Christmas trees in Old Town. Gwen let her hold the wee one. (No, don't do it, Gwen...Sofie will go crazy like they do in Lifetime movies!) Hallie made adorable little hand motions as Gwen and Aaron looked on. Aw! Gwen repossessed her baby and invited Sofie and Aaron for dinner. There, Gwen brought in a warmed bottle so that Sofie could feed Hallie. Naturally, Ali arrived and it was awkward as heck. Ali and Gwen had a sidebar about Aaron and Sofie. Then, Ali saw a heartbroken Sofie turning to Aaron for comfort. The over-bonding with Hallie had shaken her, so she made a quick exit. "That went as well as it could have, so maybe we should do it more often?" Gwen beamed.
Jack came by Metro to tell Carly that Parker is a "problem." (And this is
news?) His grades and his attitude both needed work. Parker ran into Sam at Al's. Sam wanted to get along for Carly's sake, but Parker wasn't havin' it. Jack and Carly agreed they needed to sit Parker down. Soon the topic turned to Sam, who arrived to tell them where Parker was (earning himself no brownie parents). Cue the parents converging on Parker to lecture him about school and lay down the law. Carly pointed out that she was paying for her actions, and she didn't want to see Parker messing up like she had. It didn't go well: Parker bolted out and slammed Sam for narc-ing on him to his parents. "Stay away from me and leave my mom alone!" he cried. Carly asked Jack to let the kids stay with her more and Jack was torn over trying to do what's right for them. He finally agreed, after they hashed out the Sam situation. Back at Metro, Sam had a creepy chat with Cowboy Jack about his feelings for Carly. Later, Jack brought the kids to Milltown. Sam's arrival put a kibosh on Jack sticking around for pizza...but not on Jack lurking on the stoop and staring inside longingly.

At Katie's speed dating session, Brad apologized for embarrassing her and brought her a yummy peace offering. Katie accepted his apology just before she accepted flowers from Joe, the hunky firefighter she'd met. After sensing Katie wasn't completely interested, Joe asked her if she was over Jack. "We never really fall out of love with our exes, do we?" she answered. After Katie realized things weren't working out on the date, she called Brad and asked him to come over.
Meanwhile, Sam caught glistening, towel-clad Carly as she stepped out of the shower. Carly was startled, and Sam told her he'd fixed the water heater. Carly thanked him before excusing herself to dry off. Once she was dressed, Sam brought up their strange living arrangement. He apologized for being an inconvenience, but Carly told him she enjoyed having him around. "I want you to stay," she said. Sam asked Carly how things were with Jack. She told him things were really over this time, and she didn't care if Jack didn't think she'd changed. Sam told Carly any man would be crazy not to want her.
When Rosanna came home to an angry Paul he greeted her with a warning: "Stay away from me." Rosanna still tried to move in for a hug, but Paul told her he knew about the Meg's baby and how Ro had switched the DNA results. Rosanna played dumb, but after prodding from Paul she finally admitted that she switched the tests because she didn't want to lose him. In a last, desperate attempt to keep Paul from walking out, Rosanna reminded him that Meg hurt him when she chose to sleep with — and stay with — Craig. "It's over. I'm in love with Meg," Paul announced. After Paul stated he knew Craig tried to kill the baby, he vowed that Craig was a dead man, then walked out. Rosanna immediately called Craig to tell him that Meg and Paul knew everything.
Desperately trying to cover with Craig, Meg told him Emma was sick when he called asking about the baby and when she'd return home. Craig noticed Meg's strange tone and accused her of trying to avoid him. He stressed his desire to be a good father to their child and asked her to come home as soon as she could. Holden caught the end of Meg's conversation, and asked why she lied to Craig. Meg told him the whole story about Craig trying to kill her baby, and how she and Paul found out the truth about the baby's paternity. Holden told his sister that Craig was dangerous and she had to stay away from him. He added that Paul's anger would make him dangerous as well. After Holden left, Craig showed up, and Meg told him she knew about his attempt to kill her baby.
Craig tried to apologize, but Meg said she could never forgive him and she wanted a divorce. "I swear on my life, I will never let Paul have you," Craig responded. He grabbed Meg, but Holden walked in and pointed a gun at him, demanding he let Meg go.

Jack brought Sage, Parker and JJ to visit Carly at Metro. Parker was sullen, of course, so Jack insisted he cut his mother some slack about Sam. Oh, and stop flunking school! While Sam did a Cowboy Jack routine for Sage and JJ, Parker told Carly, "There's something creepy about that guy," and accused her of not listening to him. At the police station, Jack told Margo that Parker is driving him crazy. Then Parker called Jack and begged to be picked up.
Parker noticed Carly putting cash into a box. Margo admitted to Jack that she hates ventriloquists and Sam is annoying, even for a ventriloquist. Tom arrived to tell Margo the Department of Corrections has set an early-release hearing for Casey. Tom was angry and skeptical that Casey is rehabilitated, but Margo dared to hope. Jack went to Metro to collect the kids, and Carly asked for alone time with Parker. Parker purposely left a textbook behind.
With Carly, Sam fretted about not getting along with Parker. Carly told Sam he may be getting too invested in Metro and her. Alone, Sam got into an argument about Carly with Cowboy Jack (yes, the dummy). At Al's, Parker recalled leaving his science book at Metro, and Jack let him go get it.
Parker overheard the Sam/Cowboy Jack row. Sam covered by saying he was rehearsing. After Sam left, Parker told his mom to get rid of that guy. She said the only problem is her; Sam is just lonely. Parker spied the cash box again. When Carly left the bar to take a call, Parker scooped cash from the box and planted Sam's rose. Later, After Sam returned Carly wanted to send him to fetch ice, but there was no cash. "I think we've been robbed," she said. Parker returned to Al's, where he told Jack he doesn't think Sam is going to be a problem anymore.
As Holden held a rifle on him, Craig tried to convince Meg he loves her. He changed his mind about the miscarriage drug out of love, and he's a different man now. Holden went outside and shot the gun, proving it's loaded. Meg protected Craig from Holden, but scolded Craig herself. "You don't give a damn about kids," she said, then called him "disgusting," and ordered him to "go away!" After Craig left, Meg cried in Holden's arms. He's looking forward to meeting her baby. Paul was looking for Craig at the Lakeview when Meg called, so she left him a voicemail warning him that Craig may go after him. Paul kicked in Craig's door. Craig was distraught that Meg had rejected him. Paul insisted Craig be punished. "You are not better than me," Craig hissed. "We're the same." Then Paul punched him. "You think I'm bad? I know you're an idiot," Craig bellowed. Paul warned him away from Meg and his child, "or I will kill you." Craig said it makes him feel better knowing that Paul is worried that Meg really loves Craig — the baby is Paul's only claim to her. Craig asked, What if Meg comes to me? and Paul attacked him, just in time for Meg to see. Craig told Meg that Paul threatened his life and slugged him, making Meg furious. "You deserve better than either one of us," Craig said. He begged Meg to remember when they were happy, and reminded her that Paul cannot change his violent nature. Craig insisted he has changed, citing not poisoning her was proof. Then he suggested that if she must leave him, don't go to Paul, because, "You're better off alone." When Paul attacked Craig again Meg tried to break it up and got knocked down. EMTs took her to the hospital, where Holden comforted his sister. Holden lashed out at Paul and Craig, and after consulting with the doc comforted a crying Meg. The doctor, meanwhile, told Craig that Meg will be okay physically, but emotionally — that will take a while.
