2007 Daytime Emmy Awards

Peter Bergman (Jack, Y&R;)
— CBS

Emmy Chatter

Collector's Items
“My Emmys are on a very large mantel with plenty of other things on it. Over on the right-hand side are the three Emmys. There's absolutely room for a fourth, and for that matter, a fifth or sixth [laughs]. But let's start with the fourth.” — Outstanding Lead Actor nominee Peter Bergman (Jack, Y&R;)

Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus, GL)
— CBS

Root, Root, Root For The Home Team
“I'm very excited for Crystal Chappell [Olivia] for Lead Actress. I'm excited for them all, obviously. I don't know if Kim Zimmer [Reva] has room on her shelf! I'm excited for Gina [Tognoni, Dinah] because no matter how many times you tell her she's brilliant, she's always like, ‘Really?' She's very humble.”
— Outstanding Lead Actor nominee Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus, GL)

Christian J. LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R;)
— CBS

Tie One On
“ [The late] Charles Nelson Reilly, who was my amazing teacher, told me, ‘Always tie your own bow tie when you're going to the awards. It makes a difference.' Every award, he sent me a tie. I've got so many, but he's right. At a certain age, it's just classy.”
— Outstanding Lead Actor Christian J. LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R;)

Gina Tognoni (Dinah, GL)
— PGP

Picture This
“No. I'm just concerned about someone taking my picture. If I'm on the Worst Dressed, that means someone's taking my picture.”
— Outstanding Supporting Actress Nominee Gina Tognoni (Dinah, GL) on whether she worries about being on the Worst-Dressed list.

Trent Dawson (Henry, ATWT)
— PGP

This Charming Man
“I have a good-luck charm this year. My best friend passed away in November. It's been pretty rough. When we did the ceremony for him, his mother brought these stones from a creek where they had gone and spent a lot of time together, and we all got to pick a stone. It's kind of like a worry bead that you can just rub. So that's what I'm going to have in my pocket.”
— Outstanding Supporting Actor nominee Trent Dawson (Henry, ATWT)

Kristoff St. John (Neil, Y&R;)
— CBS

Good Sport
“That's because there were two years when the Laker playoffs fell on Emmy night, but it's not going to happen this year. So, win or lose, I'm going to be in party mode — in full effect."
— Outstanding Supporting Actor nominee Kristoff St. John (Neil, Y&R;) on slipping out during past Emmy events.

James Stevenson (Jared, PASSIONS)
— NBC

Ants In His Pants
“I'm sure for the first half-hour I'll be really enjoying it, then I'll be getting antsy. I tend to get antsy at stuff like that real quick.”
— Outstanding Younger Actor nominee James Stevenson (Jared, PASSIONS)

Van Hansis (Luke, ATWT)
— PGP

Won't Get It In Writing
“I've thought about it and I know who I would want to thank, but I'm not going to write it down because I like the ones that are on the spot. When [winners] take out a piece of paper ... I wonder how many pieces of paper there are out there for people who didn't win!”
— Outstanding Younger Actor nominee Van Hansis (Luke, ATWT)

Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan, GL)
— PGP

Stargazing Stars
“Uh. I got to meet Susan Lucci [Erica, AMC] last year backstage. She was cool. It was only in passing. She was nice to me, though. She either knew who I was or faked it pretty good [laughs].” — Outstanding Younger Actor nominee Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan, GL) on his most memorable Emmy encounter.

Anthony Geary (Luke, GH)
— ABC

Take Five
“I have four here on the mantle [in L.A.] and I have one in Holland. They're never far from my view, let's put it that way [laughs].”
— Outstanding Lead Actor nominee Anthony Geary (Luke, GH) on his five Emmys.

Lesli Kay (Felicia, B&B;)
JPI

Lucky Star
“Oh, yeah, and I hate that I am that way, but I think it was ingrained in me from my mother. She told me if I mixed the jelly into the peanut butter jar, I was going to get cancer, so I am the most superstitious person in the world. When I won in 2001 [Outstanding Supporting Actress for Molly, ATWT], Michael Park gave me an ankle bracelet made out of yarn and I had that on under my gown, plus two toe rings. I won, so the next year, I gave Crystal Chappell[Olivia, GL] the toe rings and she wore them and she won [for Outstanding Supporting Actress]. I don't know where they are now; I wish I knew. In 2003, I gave Ben [Hendrickson, ex-Hal, ATWT] the ankle bracelet and he had it in his pocket and he won [for Outstanding Supporting Actor]. I do have something I'm going to bring with me ... but I'm not going to tell you what it is because I don't want to jinx it. I'm that superstitious! Ask me the day after.”
— Outstanding Supporting Actress nominee Lesli Kay (Felicia, B&B;)
